For this Maruyama Aya school uniform shoot, most of the effort went into recreating the fine makeup and styling details. Since the character has large, round eyes, I chose large-diameter colored contacts to match her 2D anime eye shape. For makeup, the focus was on defining the lower lashes and deepening the outer eye corners, paired with a generous touch of highlighter on the aegyo sal and a glossy reddish-brown lip tint to create a softer, more dimensional look. The wig is a long, pink wig with soft curls; styling took quite some time to trim the bangs into a curved shape and set the sideburns and ends inward. The costume features the standard brown jacket, sailor suit collared shirt, and red ribbon bow tie—all essential elements for character recognition. During the photoshoot, I positioned myself near a window to capture soft natural light. To fit her adorable personality, I struck a peace sign pose and tilted my face slightly for a more delicate silhouette. Post-editing was kept subtle, mainly fine-tuning skin translucency and boosting the red ribbon's saturation to match the 2D aesthetic. Studying the official art and chibi illustrations shows how tricky it is to capture her lively energy, so I repeatedly adjusted my gaze and smile angles during the session. Overall, this cosplay required high precision in makeup and styling, serving as a fun new attempt at a school-themed look. I hope it naturally reflects her vibrant character.
