[Sailor Moon cosplay] Group photoshoot: Nostalgic Memories in a Sailor suit

This Sailor Moon cosplay group project, planned for nearly half a year, ultimately shifted from an outdoor location to an indoor studio due to the typhoon. Initially, everyone felt a bit down upon learning we couldn't shoot outdoors. For this shoot, we began coordinating makeup, selecting wigs, and tailoring costumes well in advance; when the outfits arrived at my door, I tried mine on repeatedly. Heading out in typhoon weather is troublesome enough, but I'm deeply grateful to these four sweethearts who braved the wind and rain to arrive at the studio right on time—I was truly touched.

Because this was a five-person Group photoshoot, and gathering everyone's schedules in daily life is exceptionally difficult, we treasured this opportunity immensely. During the shoot, we meticulously referenced the original anime and manga to dial in every pose—from the angle of an over-the-shoulder glance and the delicate touch on the chest bow, to the flare and curve of the skirt hem, striving to recreate every detail of the original 2D artwork. Our chemistry was impeccable; sometimes a mere glance was enough to signal a shift in blocking. Shooting from morning until dusk against a pure white backdrop actually highlighted the clean lines of each silhouette and the rich color saturation even more.

Speaking of Sailor Moon, this truly is a classic work that accompanied us growing up. Seeing each Young girl dressed in a Sailor suit standing together stirred up a powerful sense of generational nostalgia. Even though we had to stay indoors, the resulting photos exceeded our expectations. Studio lighting was easily controllable, and during post-processing, we intentionally preserved delicate skin textures and natural fabric folds, giving the final shots an exceptionally clean finish.

Sorting through the photos at the end, seeing the four of them goofing around or laughing joyfully in front of the lens made me smile uncontrollably. It's rare to have friends so willing to go all out with me over the course of six months; looking at the finished photos now brings immense satisfaction, knowing all our preparation was worth it.
