This was my first time doing this Halloween-style elf witch look entirely by myself. From trimming the wig to coordinating the eyeshadow palette, I handled everything on my own; although the process had its bumps, the moment the final look came together was truly rewarding.
The core concept this time was to craft a look with a dark fairy tale aesthetic, so I deliberately exaggerated the eye contours in the makeup. I chose a fair foundation base because pairing it with light blonde hair requires a clean and translucent complexion. For eyeshadow, I laid down a reddish-brown base and deepened the outer corners and lower lash line with dark purple to add depth, which echoed the reddish-brown contact lenses beautifully. The eyeliner was key: I drew a distinct winged cat-eye to elongate the eyes, applied multiple layers of mascara, and added individual fairy lashes to create a fluffy, curled effect.
The heart-shaped blush on my cheeks was the finishing touch. I dabbed liquid blush diagonally across the apples of my cheeks with a brush, then defined a crisp heart outline with a smaller detail brush for a playful charm. The metallic lip ring on my lower lip was an accessory I added myself—placing it carefully was essential to avoid distorting the lip shape. I also drew two small flying bats on my face with a black liquid eyeliner pen, keeping the strokes light to mimic dynamic flight.
As for the outfit, the purple mesh puff-sleeve top inherently brings an air of mystery. The neckline features a cutout crisscross strap design spliced with orange pumpkin-patterned fabric below, delivering great festive spirit. The standout piece was the oversized orange floppy-brim witch hat, which instantly elevated the visual impact. To add layering, I tied a black bow around my neck so it wouldn't look bare. The elf ears are made of silicone and secured to the auricles with medical-grade adhesive, using loose powder over the edges to matte out shine and blend seamlessly into the skin.
The photoshoot took place in a wooden booth at a cafe. Natural light streamed in from the side, perfectly illuminating the vibrant colors of the hat and the pink-to-gold gradient of the hair strands. Shooting from a slightly lower angle flattered the face shape while accentuating the collarbone and the crisscross chest straps, matching the mysterious yet confident Witch costume vibe. The most enjoyable part of cosplay is refining details step by step—from the pinkish gradient tips of the wig to the tiny metallic buckles on the neckline, every element comes together to give the styling its distinct personality. Even without professional makeup training, putting sincere care into each step brings delightful surprises in the final photos.
