[Yae Miko cosplay] Purple Eyes and Fox Shadow: Sharing Lady Guuji's Makeup Details

For this Yae Miko makeup record, I mainly want to talk about eye makeup and Colored contacts styling. Because Yae Miko's purple eyes are very iconic, I chose the DOYA Purple Calla Lily lenses. The purple hue on eye is very clear, and combined with gradient eyeshadow blending, it perfectly recreates her nimble yet mysterious gaze. The wig uses a pink gradient style with natural-looking hair strands and a volumized top, giving it an airy feel under convention natural light. The bang trimming angle was also specifically tailored to match Lady Miko's side-swept bangs.

In terms of Cosplay makeup, I focused on highlighting the lower eyelid and creating layered eyelashes. Since her original design features sharp eyes and brows, I drew the eyeliner slightly longer and added a subtle accent at the inner corner with white liquid eyeliner to make the eyes look more spirited. For base makeup, I chose a matte foundation complemented by highlighters on the bridge of the nose and cheekbones, ensuring it wouldn't over-reflect under complex convention lighting. For lip color, I picked a glossy brick-red shade, slightly smudging the lip line for a softer, more natural look rather than a flat block of color.

As for costume and props, I styled this white high-neck jacquard top myself; the red piping along the collar and the glittery purple four-petal pendant on the chest serve as the visual focal points of the entire look. Running around the convention with the red-and-white paper Kagura verite prop was indeed exhausting, but being recognized by passersby made me super happy. Although this makeup look has many details, it looks great on camera—especially how the purple contact lenses produce subtle pearlescent reflections under flashlights, fitting her fox-tribe setting wonderfully. To faithfully recreate her aura, I kept contour shading light on the cheeks to preserve a touch of softness rather than making the face too sharp; after all, Lady Miko exudes laziness and composure. Finally, when drawing eyebrows, I slightly raised the arch to add a touch of tsundere charm, completing the overall makeup.

Actually, eye makeup takes the most effort in every cosplay because it determines whether facial expressions align with the character. I'm quite satisfied this time—while there are bound to be out-of-character aspects, at least I captured a bit of the fox's cunning and elegance. When taking photos on set, changing light causes the purple lenses to display varying tones across angles, which is why I highly recommend them—light purple in strong light and dark purple in dim light, closely matching Lady Miko's eye texture in official Genshin Impact illustrations. Fully equipped and standing in the convention crowd, although this outfit turned many heads for Convention photos, the greatest joy of cosplay lies in temporarily assuming another identity and immersing oneself in that character's world.
