This Divine Reverie look for Surtr has finally yielded its official photos, and taking advantage of some free time today, I put together the behind-the-scenes notes from the shoot.

First, talking about the costume details: while the white bandeau dress appears ethereal, the clear shoulder straps genuinely demanded constant angle adjustments under harsh lights, as the slightest carelessness would cause them to show on camera. For the red hair wig, I chose a high-saturation hue and cut textured layers into it; the long front fringe framed the face nicely, which alongside the blue cosmetic contacts successfully brought out the icy chill in her gaze. The pair of black horns overhead was a primary focal point; to anchor them firmly to the wig cap, I tucked in several hair padding inserts underneath. Combined with the adjacent golden wings, wearing them for hours certainly left my neck quite stiff.

My state seated on the white throne in the second photo is something I felt particularly satisfied with. The golden leaf ornaments wound around my leg were tied on bit by bit with fine cord, strapped somewhat tightly to prevent shifting mid-pose. As seen in the photo, my feet were bare—stepping onto the mat back then felt freezing cold. The slit of the skirt hem conveniently showcased this intricate detail, while the red sash added rich visual layering. The shushing gesture in the first medium close-up was improvised on set with the photographer; resting a finger against the lips partially veils the lower face, steering visual focus onto the eyes and seamlessly aligning with Surtr's calm, imposing aura.

Putting this outfit together required strict dressing order: first donning the inner white dress, then securing the choker and the golden arm bangles, and finally mounting the horns and wings on the head. Lighting on set was dialed quite bright, primarily to accentuate the sharp contrast between the crimson hair and black horns. On the makeup side, emphasis was placed on defining the eyes—elongating the eyeliner and dusting subtle silver shimmer at the inner corners. Given the lengthy shoot, having clear shoulder straps pressed against the skin felt somewhat stuffy, requiring careful adjustments during breaks to prevent red marks from disrupting subsequent takes.

Aligning with the Ambience Synesthesia and Divine Reverie themes, pose choreography preserved the character's signature languor without overly dramatic, sweeping motions, focusing instead on sculpting graceful body contours. The typography in the first image incorporated esports-inspired graphic lettering as a crossover styling experiment. Plenty of unedited outtakes remain in the archives, but the overall presentation and prop textures were remarkably solid, bringing the look's completeness right up to my expectations.
