This time, I'm bringing you Eyjafjalla's (Eyjafjalla Cosplay) swimwear look from Arknights (Arknights). I actually prepared for this shoot for quite a long time, primarily wanting to capture that state blending lively seaside summer energy with her innate soft, adorable charm.
On the styling side, for the wig I chose a warm brown base with a subtle pink gradient, intentionally trimming out that signature ahoge sprout on top. The white animal horn headpieces and pink blossoms on either side took quite a few bobby pins to secure, ensuring they wouldn't slip during dynamic posing. The standout highlight of the wardrobe is the outer sheer pink cover-up: the fabric possesses an intrinsic subtle sheen that yields gorgeous translucency under studio strobes, while the pink-and-white gingham underneath adds rich textural layers. Crucial nuance pieces like the thigh garter, as well as the right anklet featuring a black ground with blue diamond mesh patterns, provided a striking color-contrast pop within the overall pink palette.
For the set, rather than heading outdoors, we directly constructed a pink-themed environment in the studio. A woven rattan swing chair and a pastel-pink metallic shopping cart served as the primary props. In the first set of poses, I wanted to convey a sense of languid allure; perching on the swing with crossed legs not only elongated leg lines beautifully, but naturally guided visual focus toward the face. The translucent block-heeled sandals were chosen to echo the overall airy lightness.
Switching into the shopping cart allowed for more animated gestures. A side-sitting posture naturally showcased the waistline and leg contours; holding a Polaroid print or gesturing playfully toward the camera kept body language fluid and dynamic. During the shoot, most of my communication with the photographer focused on the eyes. To match the character's temperament, facial expressions needed to stay gentle and gazes crystal clear, paired with light-toned contacts to evoke an innocent, starry-eyed warmth under the lights. The foundation was kept clean, while eye makeup emphasized the aegyo sal and lashes to enlarge the eyes.
The surfboards, swim rings, gramophone horn, and tropical plants in the background were all curated to enrich the frame and eliminate empty space. In particular, the pink reflective ground sheeting and crumpled fabrics—shaped by targeted lighting—cast shimmering, ripple-like reflections that gave the overall composition high color saturation. From cosmetics and wardrobe to props and set design, immense care went into this shoot, and I hope these photos share a slice of breezy summer tranquility.
