[Gokou Ruri Cosplay] My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute, Forest Catgirl Daily Life - Image 1

The character I challenged this time is Gokou Ruri from My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute. When I got this outfit, I kept thinking about how to bring out Ruri's chuunibyou touch, introversion, and tsundere charm. The location chosen for this shoot was a lush green forest, which perfectly matched the theme of transforming the woods into a meow-meow paradise.

For the hair and makeup styling, I wore black cat ears hair accessories paired with long, straight black-purple hair with blunt bangs. For eye makeup, I deliberately chose reddish-brown cosmetic contact lenses paired with deep red lip color, elongating the eye shape so my gaze would reflect Ruri's profound, slightly stubborn demeanor. The top is a white sleeveless high-collar shirt accented with a slender black bow at the neckline and silver chains across the chest. The bottom half features a light blue mini skirt with ruffled hem details, paired with off-white/gray pantyhose for a subtle Stockings cosplay element and multi-strap black Mary Jane high heels. While preserving the character's signature aesthetic, the overall styling remained comfortable for moving around during the shoot.

Sunlight was abundant on the day of the Forest photoshoot, and we found a wooden staircase with metal handrails. Sunlight filtered through the foliage, casting dappled light and shadows across the steps and clothing. To complement this outfit and forest backdrop, I experimented with many seated poses from varied angles. For instance, sitting on the steps with legs crossed, resting my right hand naturally on the wood plank while lightly twirling my hair with the left. This pose not only showcased the layered ruffled hem and leg contours effectively, but also lent a relaxed and natural mood to the frame. For facial expressions, I avoided broad smiles, opting instead for calm or slightly languid glances into the lens, occasionally tilting my head up slightly to feel the sunlight filtering through the canopy.

Throughout the shoot, I noticed the garment was exceptionally rich in details—especially the lace around the collar and the pleats on the skirt, which took on a refined texture under the sunlight. Being outdoors, the ambient light shifted rapidly, requiring continuous repositioning to capture the best interplay of highlights and shadows. Sometimes, capturing a single candid moment meant holding the same pose for quite a while. Yet seeing the translucent clarity rendered under natural light in the final shots made every ounce of effort worthwhile. The overall collection leans toward a fresh Japanese-style portrait aesthetic without excessive post-processing, striving to restore the character's original traits while highlighting the authentic beauty of the garments and scenery. I hope this photo set conveys Ruri's charm to fellow fans, and I hope everyone enjoys this woodland experiment.
