This time, the autumn outdoor cosplay official photos for Violet Evergarden from Violet Evergarden were shot during the golden hour right before sunset. The scene was a vast red maple forest with warm orange-red tones; the fallen leaves on the ground and the distant treetops formed very rich layers, which perfectly created a warm-and-cold contrast with the character's deep blue top and white long skirt.

In terms of props, I prepared a vintage dark gray suitcase, a blue laced parasol, and scattered letter papers. These props were very helpful in shaping a quiet atmosphere that carries a sense of travel. Especially for the shot throwing the sheets of paper, we tried repeatedly to catch the natural scattered tension of the paper in the air. The wind on the day of the shoot wasn't actually very strong, so the lightweight paper sheets easily got caught on branches or curled up without fully stretching. Fortunately, we finally snapped one of the most natural and elegant frames. To match the character's temperament, I didn't make overly exaggerated facial expressions, keeping my face calm and my gaze slightly focused.

We placed great emphasis on the performance of light and shadow this time. Because we took a Backlit portrait approach, the sun happened to fall right behind and to the side of the camera position. After highlight suppression, it left behind a very beautiful rim light. The colorful halos appearing in the frame are actually not added in post-processing; they are real refractions generated by the sunset passing through the leaves and the lens. The bokeh brought by this refraction gives the entire set of images a hazy effect filled with a sense of airiness. Regarding the costume, I think the white pleated long skirt on the lower body has an excellent texture; the amplitude of the skirt hem when walking beautifully embodies the character's light yet resilient tension. The tall boots under my feet, because they were stepping on a pile of soft fallen leaves during the actual shoot, didn't actually require maintaining a standing posture like on flat ground; the slightly tilted slope instead brought more ideas for composition.

Much thought was also put into the makeup and styling for the accuracy of costume details and the original setting. The wig was trimmed into layers, making the edges look transparent under the backlighting, which complemented the white collar and shirtfront beautifully. I feel that the most important thing for outdoor cosplay shoots is not to be rigidly stuck in a fixed pose; even turning one more round or throwing the envelope one more time might capture the most vivid moment under the camera shutter. This transparency and warm tone presented by natural light hitting the skin is a part I am personally highly satisfied with. This official photo archive can be considered as achieving my personal aesthetic pursuit of a quiet yet dynamic, warm yet narrative feel. Although the entire shooting process was tiring, seeing the light and shadow texture of the final finished photos makes me feel all the hard work was completely worth it.
