The May Day holiday connected comic conventions with Ambience Synesthesia. Four days packed and fulfilling, blitzing from one mission objective to the next.

On May 1st, I was in Jinling, Nanjing. Although I did a Violet Evergarden cosplay that day, my soul remained anchored at the Arknights booth, wandering around while pulling gacha. My luck was surprisingly great—I pulled a max-potential Kal'tsit directly! Old Lynx was so generous to me. The cosplay makeup and hair styled nicely that day—blond hair paired with a blue coat and a green jewel ribbon tie. Wandering around the exhibition area, I bumped into quite a few fellow fans.

On the morning of May 2nd, I immediately blitzed to Shanghai, packing my bags and departing right away. My first stop was Magaroni on Kunshan Road, queuing up at 2:30 PM and standing until 5:00 PM before finally eating. Despite the long wait, the fried food paired with sauce was truly worth it—living up to its reputation as a legendary must-try restaurant. After dining, I went to Xujiahui Subway Station to visit the Arknights-themed wrapped station, taking tons of close-ups from every angle of each operator standee. The venue was packed with Doctors. Whenever the loudspeakers urged people to keep moving, everyone acted like an underground network, trading freebies at lightning speed before dispersing rapidly—a truly magical experience.

On May 3rd, I made a last-minute decision to visit the Geziqiu comic convention. Without applying for free-pass entry or booking a makeup artist in advance, I dragged myself out of bed at 3 AM in Xinzhuang and caught a taxi to get my makeup done. At the venue, I met a cosplayer portraying Yu's younger brother in his new skin—the red-and-black palette and horn props were so accurate that I decisively put down a deposit on the spot. An oof moment happened that day too: upon arrival, I realized I bought my May 4th ACF ticket for the 3rd instead. Luckily, VIP tickets for ACF on the 4th were still available, so I spent an extra hundred yuan, and I was grateful to my friend for buying my extra ticket off me.

May 4th was the highlight of this trip. In the morning, I queued at ACF for Shu's autograph session, and at 1:30 PM transferred directly to the outdoor area of Ambience Synesthesia. At World Expo Source, I exchanged for a massive amount of freebies, and everyone was incredibly friendly and kind. The outdoor atmosphere at Ambience Synesthesia was even livelier than certain sections of the conventions over the previous two days. In the evening, I entered with an A-tier ticket for the May 4th night show, and the audio-visual experience from the stands was fantastic. I sang along with other Doctors the entire time. When the Contingency Contract tracks played back-to-back, the whole crowd went wild, and when the Garrison Protocol theme came on, fan-favorite points across factions were ignited. Most emotionally, when "Joy of Reunion" played, I burst into tears right in my seat, completely swept away by emotion.

This May Day carnival came to an end just like that. Looking back on these days truly brings a lump to my throat. I will remember the venues I ran through, the freebies I exchanged, the long queues I waited in, and those high-octane moments on site. Next May Day, I'm definitely going to Shanghai again to sing "Iron Flowers Flying" together with everyone once more.
