After shooting all afternoon, this weapon taller than a person truly lives up to its reputation as the ultimate 'ancestor launcher.' The derelict vibe of this abandoned construction site was fantastic—concrete pillars, rough unpainted walls, and puddles on the ground naturally created an authentic battlefield ruin atmosphere. The weapon was absurdly heavy; to keep it steady while projecting an effortless calm before the camera, my core was engaged the entire time. Especially when supporting it one-handed or shouldering it, my arm muscles were constantly taut. The combat uniform in interwoven red and black looked sharp and structured; its stiff fabric and intricate layered construction gave the whole silhouette a crisp contour. The mechanical feathers and ribbons on the back may look featherlight, but they actually require specialized internal supports to maintain their 3D shape. Styling the silver-white long hair with crimson horn accessories gave a striking presence, and keeping the hair tidy while hugging the facial contour took longer than expected during hair and makeup. The eye makeup was designed with red tones, making the gaze intensely fierce.
To emphasize the massive scale of the weapon, the photographer shot from a low, upward angle, where surrounding overpasses and architectural beams naturally formed leading perspective lines. Smoke was released on set, and with puddles reflecting the light, backlighting filtered through the steel frame structures, carving out a bold, dimensional silhouette of both subject and colossal cannon. When framing, I carefully adjusted my stance so that the background perspective lines wouldn't intersect awkwardly with my body, maximizing visual tension. The retoucher did an incredible job with light and shadow, creating a vivid contrast between the cold gray background and the sharp red-and-black outfit in the foreground, while nicely enhancing the water reflections. Walking back and forth in dusty mud with platform boots to dial in the angles, the combination of thigh straps and tall boots looked stunning from the low perspective, making the legs appear even longer. Although the costume was heavy, standing in this industrial Wasteland style environment brought an undeniable sense of raw power. Looking into the lens each time, I felt like I truly embodied that ruthless battlefield commander. Especially paired with this massive weapon, the character's fierce aura flowed out naturally the moment I struck a pose. Looking back at pre-shoot prep, donning this gear followed a meticulous order across several layers. To convey dynamic combat motion, we styled the wig with a wind-blown effect, sculpting distinct layers with hairspray even without actual wind. Communicating with the photographer, we emphasized contrasting mechanical gear with female grace; thus, for standing poses, I focused on shifting my center of gravity to project effortless confidence. This concept merged seamlessly with the dilapidated ruins, and the shooting rhythm settled comfortably through trial and error. Ultimately, the hardcore props and ruined set infused this photo set with rich storytelling.
