For this shoot, I prepared the Arknights Amiya cosplay based on the Carefree murmurs outfit. The most challenging aspect of this costume was managing the blue highlights in the wig and maintaining the structural shape of the drooping ears; it took over an hour of styling to achieve a natural look. In terms of costume details, the light green shirt has a crisp texture that resists wrinkling, which, paired with the yellow-and-white striped tie and dark green pleated skirt, brings out an authentic vintage flair. The white gloves and arm warmers nicely accentuate the arm lines, while the white thigh-highs and black mid-calf boots looked fantastic while walking through the blossoms.

We specifically chose a vast Sea of sunflowers as our outdoor location. In reality, sunflowers grow quite tall, making it easy to get scratched by the leaves when walking through them, but the visual depth achieved on camera was incredible. To convey the quiet and subtly mystical atmosphere unique to this look, we deliberately split the shoot into two parts. The first part took place at dusk, right when the sky transitioned into a gradient of deep blue and violet-pink. As the ambient light softened, it set the perfect mood for shots with a lantern. Because it was quite dim, we blended warm accent lights with cool ambient light, creating a gorgeous rim light around the character while the Sea of sunflowers formed a dreamy silhouette in the background.

The second part was shot during the day when the light was crystal clear. Pairing the camera prop with lively movements allowed us to highlight the character's bright, cheerful side. During daytime shooting, wind direction and sunlight shifted rapidly, requiring us to test angles repeatedly. Direct midday sunlight creates harsh shadows on the face, so to capture those shots of running and leaping right in the center of the field, we waited until the afternoon when the light softened, allowing the photographer to capture the translucent backlight through the hair—which really tested our mutual coordination.

Shooting outdoor cosplay in a flower field is a real test of stamina and patience. Every motion required precise control, whether it was the slight sway of the skirt hem during a salute or holding the camera prop at just the right angle when looking back over the shoulder. Furthermore, sunflower pollen is intense, making frequent sneezes common when navigating the paths, and we spent almost the entire day roaming the field, repeatedly fine-tuning focus and lighting. Seeing the previews on screen, however, the visual of the character surrounded by the Sea of sunflowers was immensely comforting. I also spent a lot of time refining the makeup, staying faithful to the original eye styling by subtly elongating the outer corners and keeping the base sheer to prevent a heavy look under direct sunlight. In post-processing, we avoided excessive morphing and focused mainly on balancing warm and cool color tones, harmonizing the blue sky and yellow sunflowers to preserve a touch of dreaminess while maintaining natural realism.
