Picking up the microphone and standing under the top light made me truly feel a deep sense of ritual, from digging this outfit out of my closet to finally completing these Fes skin convention photos. I initially chose this look because the black off-the-shoulder top and the red-and-white color-blocking details feel incredibly powerful. Today, my mood during the shoot perfectly matched that confident, flamboyant rhythm—there was no need to force a vibe; as soon as the lights hit, it was easy to immerse myself in the character.
Let's first talk about the overall makeup, styling, and outfit this time. The main theme uses a very classic stage dark-style color palette. A square studded white collar is specially designed at the neckline, with a vibrant red bow right in front, creating a visual focal point amidst the heavy black and instantly elevating the layers of the whole outfit. The black top features an off-the-shoulder and slim-fit zipper design, which heavily tests upper body lines. The metal-buckle belt at the waist combined with the black pleated miniskirt, along with the black ripped tights on the thighs and the glossy white platform boots, visually elongates the overall proportions, filling the stage with energy.
The control over the details is what I am most satisfied with this time. To match the character setting, the red and black headband on top echoes well with the black wig. The flowing, long straight hair can be captured in very dynamic moments on-site using a fan or by tossing it. For the facial makeup, I chose red-tinted contact lenses. The slight red smudging around the eyes, along with the signature beauty marks under the eye and at the corner of the eye, gives the entire look a mysterious yet charming vibe. Paired with a black choker, it not only accentuates the length of the neck but also adds a layer of narrative to the expressions under the lens. To enhance that stage presence, I specially prepared a pair of black aviator sunglasses—whether hanging halfway down the bridge of my nose or worn directly to stare into the camera, they bring out a completely different aura.
During the shoot, the chemistry between me and the photographer @龙骧nightfall was extremely smooth. To capture that stage idol atmosphere, we experimented with a rich variety of body language. For instance, the snapshot of me with one leg raised and long hair scattering in the air heavily tested core strength and flexibility; although the platform boots on my feet had some weight, capturing the balance in that split second went unexpectedly smoothly. There is also a close-up where I am lightly touching my lips with lipstick; this kind of action-guided composition makes the character traits even more vivid. Additionally, there is a shot where I stretch my hand forward; by utilizing changes in the camera's depth of field to blur out the hand, it gives the crisply focused facial expression behind it a much stronger impact. Such highly interactive photos are incredibly stunning.
The shooting location was a darker indoor space with dim lighting and a few blue point atmosphere lights set up on both sides. The photographer utilized these limited light sources to do beautiful rim lighting, sharply outlining the edges of my hair and the contours of my shoulders, which gave the overall frame a very cool, stage-focused feel. In this set of photos, although I put together the first collage layout myself later on, the words \"Astra Yao convention photos obtained\" truly summarize my gains today. This set of convention photos isn't just about putting on the clothes; it's about hoping to convey that vivid aliveness unique to the spotlight through eyes and posture. In this Astra Yao cosplay set, I blended the wig, makeup, outfit, and studio light and shadow all together. I think the final visual feedback is completely worth it, and I hope these photos can also make everyone feel the maxed-out stage energy.
