[Vivian Cosplay] Warm Date Moment in Zenless Zone Zero

Preparing the styling for this Vivian cosplay actually took quite a while, with the core focus on restoring that cool yet sweet temperament. The wig features light violet curly hair, layered specifically so it drapes gently around the shoulders and neck. Fitting the elf ear style props took a lot of work, and combined with red-eyed makeup, capturing the right expression was essential—because that lazy yet slightly sly vibe from the original lore is the true soul of this photoshoot.

For the outfit, I chose a black-and-white paneled Gothic minidress. The upper half is a white ruffled short-sleeved shirt, while the lower half consists of a black miniskirt and black tights, accented by a striking wide leather belt. The design of this piece is very clever, making the waistline look exceptionally sharp. For this studio shoot, I deliberately chose a pure white background without complex sets to maximize the tailored details of the clothing and the model herself, creating a clean, high-end feel.

During the shoot, a dark reddish-brown solid wood armchair was specifically chosen as a prop, creating color contrast against the pure white background to add depth to the frame. We shot four different moods today, including some wearing platform boots and others with shoes off. Although the shoeless set was relaxed, my personal favorite is the shot where I'm wearing the boots with both legs raised—the exact frame you see.

Those blue-and-black platform boots are seriously heavy, but when worn with black tights, the leg-elongating effect is amazing. During the shoot, balancing my body's center of gravity required leaning back slightly against the chair's backrest, then casually lifting my legs like that so the whole pose looked effortless. This subtle sense of casual relaxation happened to perfectly match the state I wanted to convey.

Pure white backgrounds can easily make images look flat, so I intentionally used two strobes with softboxes from the front side. This created soft highlights on the skirt folds and the surface of the black tights, enhancing 3D depth. The chair was carefully picked from the prop team; its curved backrest and slender legs matched the character's light yet solid look wonderfully.

A previous post mentioned a recent wish to go on a date with Phaethon and share a parasol. Although we didn't actually shoot outdoors with a parasol, the entire atmosphere for this studio shoot was built around this gentle theme. Sitting on a vintage chair with hair cascading down and tilting my head slightly with a playful expression was really about imagining that shared moment together.

Regarding post-processing, the color grading wasn't overdone; it mainly brightened skin texture and made the wig's sheen look more natural. The reflection on the black tights under studio light was just right, creating rich detail and material contrast when paired with the silver metal buckles and white rivets on the boots. The chibi character sticker on my leg in photo #3 was actually a fun post-editing addition to liven up the mood and create a cute contrast with the serious tone. However, if used as a poster, the shot without the sticker works better as a cover—clean, crisp, and displaying the legs and shoes more completely.

Before shooting this look, a lot of effort went into researching the character's personality traits to avoid looking stiff when posing. Every hand lift, leg cross, and even the black nail art were all part of the overall complete styling. In this style of cosplay, the finer the detail, the more professional it looks.

During breaks, I also tried a look without shoes, wearing only white anklets, which indeed felt more naturally relaxed and homey. However, different footwear lends distinct stylistic directions to the image. Paired with these platform boots, there's a bit more sharpness and sophistication, better matching the slightly tsundere date atmosphere I wanted to showcase this time.

My state on the day of the shoot was actually great. Although rushing between schedules, smooth communication regarding rhythm with my photography partner allowed us to get these usable shots very quickly. My favorite one—wearing the full set of gear with my leg raised high—was shot about half an hour before wrapping up, when my energy was peaking and emotions were at their highest.

I hope everyone can feel the unique charm of the character Vivian in these photos. Engaging in cosplay for a character I love and materializing the scenario of spending time with Phaethon from my imagination is truly a deeply rewarding experience. Though the shooting process was tiring, the moment seeing the final pictures made it all worthwhile. The touch of light on hair and clothes, along with the process of repeatedly fine-tuning sharpness during post-processing, have all become unique memories of this creation.
