While retouching this set of Nangong Yu photos from Firefly ACG Expo, I kept savoring the details of the shoot at that time. This time I challenged the specific Rhapsody Muse look from Zenless Zone Zero, where the overall design demanded balancing the tough feel of leather with the playfulness of sweet girl elements.

The structure of the costume is actually quite intricate. The main core is a shiny black leather cropped abdominal vest with a glossy material texture that projects strong tactile appeal under the convention's overhead lights and glass window reflections. The collar is designed as a white lapel, forming a sharp visual contrast with the black leather, while the large pink bow on the chest acts as the finishing touch—softening the sharpness of the overall look and adding the character's signature sweet-cool vibe. The bottom garment is a black pleated miniskirt with purple fabric lining; when walking or lifting a leg, that flash of purple peeking through instantly reveals color layering.

The most dramatic design features the pair of wide, detachable sleeves on the arms—black leather on the outside with a high-saturation purple lining. During the shoot, I needed to consciously control arm tension to allow the sleeves to hang naturally or wave dramatically, blending motion and stillness to capture beautiful shots. The purple floating halo atop my head has a transparent bracket; though secured to the hairpiece, under lens perspective, it creates a visual illusion of floating, which adds huge bonus points.

For makeup and styling, I chose red contact lenses to match the character's gaze. The black-to-pink gradient twintail wig naturally carries strong 2D anime recognition, accented with pink triangle hairclips and white animal-ear clips to shape a full facial contour. For the lower half, I wore black semi-sheer stockings with leg rings and those extremely heavy studded multi-buckle biker boots. Those boots were indeed very heavy, making my soles ache after standing for long periods on site, but this platform height lengthened my leg lines dramatically, rendering crisp visual results before the lens.

Firefly ACG Expo had massive foot traffic that day, so to avoid dense crowds, we selected an area near the glass curtain wall along the hall perimeters where corridors were relatively wide and lighting was even, offering a clean background. During the shoot, I borrowed a friend's silver metallic flight case as a prop; sitting on the case allowed me to stretch my legs naturally, feeling much more dynamic than merely standing still. Especially the composition where I sat on the box with one leg slightly raised preserved leather folds, leg ring details, and boot heft while perfectly establishing waistline and outfit sectioning, yielding a high success rate for shots.

Reviewing these photos, I also re-examine my condition before the camera. Nangong Yu's base persona is cool, distant, and combat-oriented, but the Rhapsody Muse variant infuses dynamic stage idol elements, so I intentionally sought a subtle balance in posing—combining a guarded stance with casual composure. Shooting was by no means easy; long periods of squatting or kneeling on the cold floor tested physical stamina, but seeing all these lights, shadows, and details frozen in final images made every effort worthwhile. Beyond solo captures, meeting fellow enthusiasts on site energized my desire to perform before the lens. Overall, this photoshoot successfully captured the shining cyber-city essence of Rhapsody Muse in our Cosplay photography, serving as a satisfying visual report for my Firefly independent tour.
