[Ryuge Kisaki Cosplay] Lapis-Like Blue and the Chill in the Rain - Image 1

The deep blue modified cheongsam top paired with gold embroidery looks exceptionally steady within the cool color tones of a rainy day.

Straddling the damp glass railing, I have to admit this was indeed a moment that tested balance and facial expression management. That prop gun is very heavy, but holding it in hand brings out more of that determination the character should have. Every time I raise this prop gun, I can experience the character's chilling, somber temperament that blends into the environment.

This shoot was intentionally chosen in a public space after the rain. The venue restricted the range of movement, but the reflections cast on the glass instead increased the spatial layering. To find the best light and shadow effects, we waited for a gap when the rain slightly paused; the puddles on the ground happened to reflect the silhouette of my shoe heels, which was highly realistic.

To match the character's temperament, the makeup and hairstyle were adjusted, especially the layering of the blue-black hair color and the details of the red eye makeup, hoping to restore the character's unique sense of aloofness. I also pondered how to recreate that looking-down gaze, so during the shoot, I intentionally controlled my facial expressions, trying not to smile too much to maintain her original cool detachment and independence.

The pairing of white socks and high heels is often quite tiring in reality, but it indeed gives the lines of the lower body a better visual effect. During the shoot, I kept reminding myself to maintain a relaxed state, trying my best to make the movements look like a natural pause rather than a forced, staged silhouette. Standing in high heels on the slippery ground after rain is also a technical skill; a slight slip could lead to a fall, so I kept my core tightened at all times during the shoot.

Thanks to the photographer for being able to capture the most suitable light in such an outdoor environment; the icy feeling of raindrops hitting my face actually helped me get into character quite well. Post-processing preserved the reality of the environment without excessively blurring the background, which also better embodies the character's presence within this real space.

I silently worked hard for a long time to complete this look, hoping to bring everyone a slice of authentic visual experience. The choice of clothing materials also took some thought; I wanted the embroidery stitching and the luster of the deep blue fabric to be exquisite, as good quality makes the whole Anime cosplay twice as effective with half the effort. The weathered wood grain texture on the prop gun also took quite some time to process.

Regarding the range of movement, doing this pose with one knee bent and the body slightly tilted was actually to balance the relationship between the prop gun and the body's center of gravity. It needed to give the gun a sense of oppression without blocking the dragon patterns on the clothes. We tried four or five shooting angles to find the most satisfactory version. I have to say that wearing a wig and a coat on a rainy day is indeed stuffy, but the exact moment I saw the final photos after wrapping up, it felt totally worth it. I hope to pass on that sharp yet cool feel of the character to everyone, which is a concrete presentation of my understanding of the character.

Before the shoot, I carefully studied the character's background setting and daily habits; her expression always carries an elegant pride. Therefore, when striking this pose, my back had to be perfectly straight and the angle of my chin precise to pull off this heavy coat. Putting on and taking off the coat was also a difficult task; it needed to create a casual feel while ensuring the clothes wouldn't slip and affect the frame, which required the photographer to keep snapping candid shots to find the most natural instant. Shooting in a rainy atmosphere was also a test for the equipment; everyone was a bit frantic, and we had to constantly watch out to protect the wig from being messed up by the rain. That feeling of tacit cooperation was very fun. I thoroughly enjoy this process of Cosplay photography exploring the character's limits under specific environments.
