As Arknights marks its 7th anniversary celebration, I finally completed this photoshoot for Skadi the Corrupting Heart cosplay. To accurately recreate the character's core features, I devoted substantial effort from wig selection to tailoring this Anime-style outfit. The silver-white wig serves as the visual centerpiece; I carefully trimmed layers into the bangs and sideburns while keeping the ends silky smooth, striving to convey the ethereal grace of an Abyssal Hunter.

For the iconic pointed hat, I deliberately chose a structured black silhouette. The brim decorations were crafted with meticulous care—using pearlescent, holographic teal materials on the edge, paired with star badges and black serrated piping, giving the look a bold, three-dimensional presence. The high-collar design and sheer tulle cutout across the clavicle were inspired touches, with white geometric motifs dotting the mesh to break up the potential heaviness of solid red blocks.

For makeup, I skipped overly complex contouring and focused primarily on the eyes. Blending soft pinkish eyeshadow and wearing reddish-brown contact lenses, I sought to capture that distant yet intensely focused gaze from the original illustration. For lips, I chose a matte nude-pink texture that, under high-exposure frontal flash, gave the photo tones a soft yet stunning quality. The tailored red corset fit the body snugly, with ruffle trims along the edges enhancing the outfit's visual opulence in this Cosplay photography.

In terms of fabric, I used finely lustrous red satin for the main corset. The off-shoulder and exposed clavicle cut aligned with the character's aesthetic while gracefully showcasing feminine contours. The sleeve details were equally noteworthy: detached red sleeves incorporated straps and metal buckles to enhance a techwear edge, while the teal fingerless gloves formed a cohesive harmony with the blue elements on the hat.

The actual shoot took place in a simple small room without complex outdoor sets. However, utilizing strong diffused light from a front ring flash, the facial features and contours stood out crisp and clear. Simultaneously, I placed a continuous red light behind to the side to simulate the brooding red deep-sea ambiance from the game. The red illumination casting across the white hair and red garments created an enchanting interplay of light and shadow in this Cosplay photography.

I intentionally designed several poses to display the full silhouette of the costume. I am particularly fond of the glance-back pose in Photo 3: turning back sideways showcases the back and shoulder lines while allowing the long white hair to cascade smoothly down my shoulders. Combined with side lighting, it traced sleek, graceful contours with an exceptional atmosphere. In Photo 1, leaning forward slightly with one hand resting beneath my chin and the other reaching toward the lens created a captivating sense of tension and immersion.

For the special milestone of the Arknights 7th anniversary celebration, participating in this community-wide celebration as Skadi the Corrupting Heart felt deeply meaningful. Over seven years, this game has accompanied countless Doctors through day and night, and as one of its most beloved operators, Skadi's every appearance touches hearts. Throughout the Cosplay photography session, I continually contemplated how to capture that bond in static imagery—her silent promise: "Whenever you call me, I will come to your side."

Because a wide-angle lens was used, the composition carries strong visual perspective—the close-up exaggeration locks focus firmly on the face and upper torso while preserving costume details. Although the shooting setup was modest with just an ordinary door and pink walls, fine-tuning color temperature and local contrast in post-production allowed this everyday setting to accentuate the costume's refinement. I am thoroughly satisfied with the final photos. As a cosplayer bringing this Anime-style outfit to life, understanding the underlying story and emotion is paramount, and I hope this series conveys the unique, quiet serenity of an Abyssal Hunter.
