After putting it off for so long, the Jinling convention photos are finally sorted! Cosplaying Kaname Rana this time around turned out to be an immensely satisfying convention shoot. While inside the Jinling exhibition hall, a friend brought along a Noah plushie—and since both have adorable feline attributes, it felt only natural to snap a duo set together. Holding the spiral notebook with "Sketching the Future" inscribed on it and slinging the guitar gig bag across my back immediately plunged me back into that vibrant atmosphere of music and dreams.

Speaking of the styling, the wig was a blunt-banged white bob with soft black gradient tips. The key focal point of the makeup was heterochromia—blue in the left eye and brown in the right—which, paired with a cool-toned porcelain base, looked luminous and translucent on camera. The black plush ear-flap hat atop the head served as the crowning accent, with dangling plush tassels introducing an extra touch of playfulness. The upper outfit featured a simple white short-sleeved tee accented with black plush shoulder trim, complemented by semi-sheer black fingerless arm warmers that resonated with the lower half.

The bottom half was styled with a black mini skirt, anchored visually by black over-the-knee stockings and chunky platform combat boots. The stockings hugged the thighs right at the hemline, creating arresting visual tension during crouching and seated postures. Posing in this getup across gray concrete flooring against the backdrop of studio light stands and reflector umbrellas carved out a crisp, industrial cool-toned aesthetic. To showcase different moods, I alternated between crouching, raising a hand while seated, one-legged dance poses, and cradling the Noah plushie. For the crouching shot, I specifically adjusted the angle to drop my center of gravity and looked slightly upward with a languid gaze to accentuate leg contours and stocking texture. When sitting on the floor hugging the plushie, keeping my posture low softened the mood of the frame.

A special shoutout goes to photographer Yelu. Time runs notoriously tight during convention shoots, and nailing such clean framing amid a bustling hall is no small feat. Yelu-laoshi had an exceptional grasp of lighting, preserving facial translucence over the cool ambient palette. To integrate the Noah plushie naturally into the composition, we tested several poses before settling on holding it overhead and cradling it close. The plushie's outfit is packed with whimsical details—a clown-style black hat and polka-dot garments—which formed a vibrant contrast against my monochrome styling while blending in surprisingly harmonious fashion.

This cosplay ensemble transitions seamlessly into everyday street style while serving as a fantastic convention look: sharply layered, comfortable, and warm, while the skirt-and-stockings combination allows unrestricted movement for dynamic poses. Holding the notebook naturally tied back to the "Sketching the Future" concept. Sifting through these frames, the exhaustion of dashing through the convention hall in the summer heat completely evaporated. The purest joy of cosplay lies in giving tangible shape to beloved characters and connecting with like-minded friends. Documenting this delightful feline time with my friend made for an unforgettable convention memory.
