[Robin cosplay] Light Blue Dreamscape: A Summer-Exclusive Sunny Song

Bringing this Robin 'Sunny Song' Summer swimsuit look to life actually came with quite a few challenges.

First and foremost was channeling the character's fairy-like lightness; the entire hair and makeup styling was tailored to match that sheer, ethereal aura. The light blue wig paired with cyan-toned contact lenses formed the visual centerpiece of every frame. To complement this luminous feel, the base makeup was kept lightweight, relying instead on strategic highlighters to sculpt radiant skin glow. The headpiece was one of the souls of this look: starfish and seashells atop the crown, paired with side-mounted feather hairpins, took immense patience to assemble, requiring constant care during shooting so as not to damage the silhouette.

The costume design was richly layered, dominated by lustrous fabrics and sheer blue tulle. The advantage of these materials lies in their ability to catch transmitted light for breathtaking reflections, but the drawback is their tendency to snag and their finicky maintenance. The sunflowers and white plumeria blossoms at the waist were pinned on-site with safety pins; to achieve a natural drape, we repositioned them multiple times. The beaded bracelets and necklaces were also handpicked after careful deliberation—they needed to adhere to the character's overarching color harmony, remaining delicate without distracting from the main attire.

This set was shot predominantly in an indoor practical pool set. We chose the blue-and-white mosaic tile backdrop because it aligned flawlessly with the costume's palette, imparting a built-in cool, refreshing filter effect. The entire studio was arranged like a miniature seaside retreat with palm trees, wooden barrels, and beach loungers to heighten realism. Interacting with the water gun, extending legs into the pool, and framing close-ups on the red-and-white striped beach chair—props occupied a major portion of our shooting time. Items like the pink water gun and clear inflatable swim ring were specifically utilized to deepen the visual narrative.

Camera placement by the photographer was crucial. For instance, the cover shot sitting on the stone steps called for a slight low angle paired with firmly pointed toes to make the leg lines appear elongated and well-balanced. Expressions directed toward the lens were kept in a relaxed, subtle half-smile, fitting the gently languid mood of a summer snapshot. To stay anchored in the character's emotional flow amid shifting energy on set, I listened to soothing music between takes, adjusting eye focus to capture that leisurely, post-swim bliss.

The shooting process was physically demanding—sitting on the pool's edge in chilly water while holding extended poses took a heavy toll on stamina. To find the most flattering leg contours, constantly adjusting seated angles and toe engagement was necessary to achieve the slender leg lines seen in the final frames. We also had to sidestep angles prone to uneven skin tones from indoor light refractions. The studio lighting needed to avoid harshness, relying on soft diffusers to wrap the scene in a dreamy glow, while post-processing dedicated substantial effort toward color grading to draw out that crystal-clear Light blue dreamscape aesthetic.

We prepared thoroughly for sun protection and heat care prior to shooting; wigs and delicate tulle are vulnerable to heat damage, requiring frequent touch-ups during breaks. This collection aims to convey a limited-edition holiday reverie, highlighting the character's lively grace and purity around water. While the preparations were intricate, seeing the finished results made every bit of effort well worth it. These images are not merely a visual realization of the character, but also a tender daydream of a summer getaway.
