This photoshoot brought to life the Eurydice skin of Identity V Little Girl. The overall styling, hair, makeup, and stage sets were conceived around the central motif of dreams and fragmented memories.
For the makeup, I wore vivid emerald-green contact lenses to mirror her character design, supported by a translucent, dewy eye base. Soft pink faux freckles were delicately stippled across the cheeks, paired with a natural, muted lip tint to enhance an innocent, youthful look. The long, orange-red curly wig was shaped and pre-set in advance to preserve voluminous bounce, crowned on both sides by hairpieces woven with pink blossoms, foliage, and white lace to echo the details of the white Western dress.
The wardrobe centered on a pure white lace dress featuring voluminous puff sleeves and tiered ruffle flounces. Posing inside the birdcage with this gown posed quite a challenge: the voluminous skirt required delicate fanning out during seiza kneeling to reveal every layered tier while avoiding snags against the metallic bars. In the second sequence, we introduced a wicker basket lined with red-and-white gingham fabric filled with red apples—a narrative prop that enriched the visual storytelling immensely.
For set design, a gilded metal birdcage served as the structural focal point, anchored by a green moss mat underneath and surrounded by crimson roses and dry branches. The stained-glass window in the background of the second frame acted as a fantastic natural light source; sunlight streaming through onto the white lace forged sharp, painterly chiaroscuro. Inside the cage, folding my hands across my chest channeled Eurydice's guarded self-preservation and childlike bewilderment toward the unknown. When holding the apple basket, a slightly vacant gaze paired with a subtle head tilt evoked an ethereal state drifting between reality and fantasy.
As a character in Identity V, the Little Girl inherently carries heavy narrative weight, while the mythological name Eurydice imbues her with tragic, poetic romance. Throughout the shoot, I refrained from exaggerated expressions, relying instead on nuanced eye focus and restrained physical gestures. This tranquil photographic style demanded delicate emotional calibration, and I am deeply pleased with the final frames. Every stage of prep and detail-refining strives to manifest the character's aura in the three-dimensional world—which remains the ultimate joy of cosplay.
