Presenting this Touhou Project Marisa Kirisame cosplay set. Joined by a large white dog for this shoot, I styled this set with a cozy, healing home-style concept.
Outfit details first: The look centers on a black and white palette contrasted against wavy blonde wig curls. The oversized ruffle hat features black stripes and bows, bringing out authentic fantasy charm. Layered ruffles and lace define the skirt hem, with black trim on the collar and loose lantern sleeves keeping the visual soft.
I specifically chose black diamond-patterned tights for the Fishnet tights outfit, paired with chunky black patent leather loafers. In this crouching pose, camera angles were carefully framed to showcase full styling features while retaining visual details of the tights. Crouching with hands gathered together creates a gentle, approachable vibe that showcases leg lines and net pattern textures.
The furry partner beside me was today's best teammate. Having Large dogs in the same frame initially made me worry if my elaborate outfit would scare this fluffy white dog, but it sat quietly with its tongue out, exuding natural silly cuteness that made shooting easy. To enhance the casual feel, I pinned a small blue clip in its fur as a cute accessory.
Shot in a living room, the sofa behind was draped in blue-and-white plaid with light lace cushions for a cozy home atmosphere. Green vines trailing by the air conditioner added a touch of vibrant life to the black-and-white palette. A colorful geometric foam puzzle mat on the floor created a pleasant warm-cool contrast with my dark outfit during Cosplay photography.
The biggest challenge was maintaining posture without blocking the dog. Since the dog is heavy, I had to hold a semi-crouch to match its height. Though tough on the legs, chunky loafers helped relieve pressure. Gathering hands together framed my proportions while drawing focus to face and upper body outfit details.
Post-processing adjusted brightness and saturation for soft, dreamlike afternoon light. With intricate lace and grid elements, generous negative space kept the composition clean, letting viewers focus on facial expressions, Fishnet tights outfit details, and the adorable dog.
I initially worried the big hat might startle the dog, but it turned out super affectionate. Petting its soft fur during breaks offered indescribable healing. Despite the heavy wig and hat, all exhaustion vanished at the shutter click. Departing from lavish studio shoots, this casual home-style Marisa set delivers a sweet, relaxing everyday warmth.
