The final photo set for this Yang Yuhuan cosplay is complete, utilizing the iconic red-and-blue classic skin familiar to fans. At the start of the shoot, considering her role as a graceful, cold, and elegant support mage in Honor of Kings, we set the makeup and hair direction toward classical dignity amid grandeur—striking a balance that isn't overly intense while retaining the visual tension of the original game art.

The headpiece was a true test of the stylist's craft. The oversized pink peony paired with a gold hollowed-out crown and side fan decorations felt substantial in hand, requiring real neck strength to wear comfortably. To recreate the intricate layering of the original concept art, the hair was styled into straightened twin long ponytails with smooth strands to balance the headpiece's proportions. On facial makeup, beyond basic eyeshadow and lip shades, I added a delicate forehead mark (huadian) and long gold finger claws, significantly raising the completion level of hand gestures in subtle details.

During the shoot, the primary goal was conveying gentleness alongside quiet confidence. For the setting, we chose woven bamboo mats, an ink-wash bamboo screen backdrop, live bamboo on both sides, white porcelain vases, and plum blossom sprigs to craft a serene ancient study ambiance. For props, the custom-made, exaggerated pipa served as the centerpiece of this Cosplay photography session. The lute body featured a purplish-gray base with cloud motifs and blue gemstones, while the gold hollowed neck and string textures caught studio lights brilliantly. I experimented with both standing holding and seated cradling poses to add dynamic visual variety.

Two core props worked together seamlessly in this set. Aside from the pipa, we incorporated a light purple oil-paper umbrella adorned with ink flower-and-bird patterns. Holding the umbrella, white and blue-gold semi-transparent ribbons draped gracefully from my arms, creating an airy light texture that contrasted with the red dress's substantial weight. The skirt's high-slit cut elegantly displayed leg lines in both sitting and standing stances, paired with red-and-gold lace-up high heels to extend visual length. Durable fabric was chosen for the outfit; the royal blue top featured golden key-fret piping, instantly solidifying the character's presence upon putting it on.

In post-processing, the photographer paid meticulous attention to lighting and shadows. Indoor soft lighting avoided harsh contrast, highlighting the metallic headpiece, arm guards, and glossy lacquered pipa texture and highlights. Low-angle and side-profile shots enhanced the character's aura. Every golden detail showed proper luster under lighting. For fantasy Ancient style cosplay, uniform accessory texture is key to maintaining immersion without looking plastic.

Reflecting on the whole shoot, from custom costume and props to final makeup, every step was confirmed repeatedly with the photographer and stylist. Because Yang Yuhuan's skin in Honor of Kings has vivid colors, poor tailoring or cheap accessories would look tacky. We paid special attention to material synergy, using antique bronze instead of shiny gold, and matte fabrics for the dress and top to achieve a grounded Chinese style styling feel aligned with original game art. Hope everyone feels the effort in character capture and detail recreation!
