From finalizing the plan to bringing the 5th Anniversary Kotobuki suit from Musical Touken Ranbu to life at the Wuhan Comic Convention, preparation took over a month. Arriving at the venue today fully geared up felt like delivering the culmination of all that dedicated groundwork. Portraying Kashuu Kiyomitsu (Kashuu Kiyomitsu cosplay) from Musical Touken Ranbu, the makeup was tailored specifically to sculpt facial contours—especially the eye makeup, blending an orange-red eyeshadow over a broad area, paired with vivid red contact lenses and extended eyeliner to craft a slightly upturned, sharp gaze. The contact lenses were crystal clear, keeping my eyes comfortable throughout the entire day. The wig was meticulously trimmed, cross-checking the layering and curved ends against reference art, which—paired with the iconic yellow diamond earring—achieved a face fidelity I'm genuinely pleased with.

The suit fabric was custom-tailored; its subtle luster appeared exceptionally soft under indoor venue lights. The crisp cut of the white shirt maintained a sleek silhouette without looking bulky, while the deep red tie, delicate gold collar chain, and black suspenders formed the core framework of the look. Wearing this tailored suit with the red tie made my posture look remarkably upright and refined. To best honor the event theme, I repeatedly adjusted the suspender clasps and tie length throughout the day for optimal visual balance.

I poured my heart into the stage segment, blocking movements across the stage while feeling overhead spotlights shower down. Channeling the signature stage choreography of Musical Touken Ranbu made it natural to express the character’s effortless poise tinged with a hint of melancholy. Meeting so many fellow enthusiasts at the venue, exchanging cosplay photos, and snapping shots for one another made the experience profoundly joyful and fulfilling.

Leading up to the event, extensive prep went into the smallest details—polishing scuffs off shoe tips, securing earrings, and cleaning wigs are essential rituals before every cosplay outing. Though tedious, achieving a flawless presentation makes every effort worthwhile. Around noon when the lighting was prime, I took two mirror selfies—one waving hello and another hugging plush merchandise—both turning out great. This Wuhan Comic Convention trip was incredibly rewarding; the quality of the costume, makeup, and props received generous compliments on site, and I can't wait to wear this outfit to more events in the future.
