Taking advantage of the last wave of vitality in the Lotus leaf pond, this Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae cosplay 3rd anniversary Birthday celebration photo set is finally complete. The timing of this shoot was very tight because the weather was gradually cooling down and the Lotus leaf spread across the pond had already started yellowing over large areas. To catch the tail end of that lush green, we hurried directly to a nearby traditional classical garden. The shoot day was actually quite chaotic—sitting on a large boulder by the edge of the pond was somewhat slippery, and mosquitoes were swarming all around.

During the shoot, natural light was primarily utilized, using water surface reflections to bounce fill light onto the face. Because the character's traits are very distinct, the focus was on capturing several stoic, cool perspectives. This time, a 35mm focal length was chosen with the aperture set around f/2.8, which rendered the subject three-dimensionally while naturally blurring the background Lotus leaf scenery, creating an artistic atmosphere without needing excessive post-processing. To make the catchlights in the eyes more captivating, we tested several angles so the sunlit shimmer of the pond reflected directly in the eyes, which complemented the cyan colored contacts to look deep and focused.

Great care went into the texture of the costume: the structured fabric of the white top prevented unflattering wrinkles, and the cyan-blue water ripple embroidery on the chest and waist was meticulously aligned. The most troublesome part was securing the sash and ribbons; constantly adjusting sitting poses during shooting made the fabric twist together easily, requiring frequent readjustment. The dark slim-fit trousers and boots elongated the leg lines, and while seated on the rock, the gold trim along the boots caught the light nicely, creating an excellent overall look. The white-and-gold orb prop held in hand was actually quite heavy; holding it aloft with one hand while keeping the arm steady took dozens of takes before picking a few that didn't look stiff.

In post-processing and retouching, beyond routine skin smoothing and skin tone adjustments, the main task was unifying the color palette. Shadows in the Lotus leaf pond were slightly deepened, while the whites and cyans on the subject were brightened to ensure separation from the background. Fill lighting slightly lifted shadows to enrich details. We didn't add overly complex special effects this time, striving instead to preserve that cool, restrained aesthetic. The overall cosplay shooting process went smoother than anticipated; although sitting by the water for long caused numbness in my legs, the hit rate of great shots was high. Before the leaves fully withered, that splash of greenery from Honkai: Star Rail's aesthetic was put to perfect use.
