Today I've finished editing and retouching this set of Castorice photos. This time I'm cosplaying Castorice from Honkai: Star Rail. When I first got my hands on this costume, I felt there were truly a lot of details. The top is a sci-fi-esque white armor style with hollow-out designs at the waist, paired with purple ribbons and flower decorations on the chest, making the overall look very layered. To restore the character's temperament, I specially prepared pointed elf ear props; wearing them does feel quite different. The elf ears were fixed with skin wax and special effects glue, and needed glue touch-ups midway through the shoot, otherwise they would easily fall off. The headpiece part is a black spiky crown inlaid with purple gems, dotted with some pink and white flowers; it's quite craft-heavy, and wearing it for a long time makes the top of the head feel a bit heavy, but it's still worth it for the effect. The wig is a pink-to-light-purple gradient with blunt bangs in the front, and sideburns left relatively long on both sides, which can well modify the face shape. To make it look more natural, I trimmed and styled the bangs in advance and used plenty of hairspray. In terms of makeup, I used purple contact lenses, eye makeup leaning slightly towards a pink-purple tone, coupled with red lip makeup, making the overall look quite vivid. The gloves are elbow-length long purple ones with white ruffles at the edges and floral patterns on the back of the hands; the details are quite well done and the fit is decent. The lower body is a white short skirt with asymmetric pleats and bows on the hem, dragging a purple-pink gradient long skirt hem in the back, creating a great ethereal and flowing sense when walking. On the legs are white over-the-knee stockings with purple diamond geometric patterns, paired with white high-heeled boots. The overall proportion looks good, but standing in high heels for a long time is still quite tiring. During the shoot, this large scythe prop was truly a focal point. Its main body has a blue and purple metallic texture, the blade is a huge crescent moon, and the staff body is decorated with silver and blue wings. Although it has some weight, when holding it to pose, coordinated with the swaying of the skirt hem, the effect is very photogenic. We shot in a European-style hall with tall arched doors and stone carved railings in the background, and the tile patterns on the ground are also very nice. The lighting is warm yellow, contrasting with the cool tones of the clothes, and the texture captured is great, with the satin material having a nice reflection effect under the light. One set features sitting on the steps holding a bouquet of flowers; the light purple flowers match the clothes very well, and this static posture requires controlling breathing to keep the facial expression natural. There is also a posture of lifting one leg next to the railing, which can better showcase the leg lines and the layers of the skirt hem, but this is a test for core strength and balance. Throughout the entire shoot, although a lot of time was spent posing and adjusting details, and physical exertion was high, seeing the final photos made it feel quite worth it. Cosplaying this character was mainly because I like her cold yet slightly mysterious feeling. In terms of the restoration of costumes and props, I also tried my best to stay close to the original setting, hoping to convey this atmospheric vibe. This shoot also tried some new lighting angles, bringing a new understanding of the presentation of materials. The whole process was very fulfilling, and I accumulated very precious shooting experience.
