Stepping into this purple-toned studio space filled with vintage CRT Retro TV monitors and suspended glowing jellyfish, an intense surreal atmosphere immediately enveloped me. The core theme for this shoot was inspired by the Goddess of Victory universe; while not portraying a specific named character this time, the overall styling took a decisively futuristic, sci-fi Cyberpunk direction. The creative heart of this set lay in sparking a mesmerizing chemical reaction between the garment textures and the intricate set design.
Let's first talk about the styling and tactile feel of the outfit. The centerpiece is a white Laser bodysuit crafted from holographic material, a textile that refracts shifting polarizations of violet, cyan, and blush pink under varying angles of light. To break up the solid white surface, a purple crisscross harness design was added across the chest, anchored at the center with a metallic inverted-triangle buckle, while black piping contoured the waistline along the sides. The matching holographic choker around the neck served as the finishing touch, echoing the fabric's luminous sheen. For the hair, I selected a soft lavender twintail wig with blunt bangs crowned by white lace hairpieces, infusing a hint of playful sweetness into the sleek technological edge. The lower half was paired with sheer White stockings featuring silver sequin patchwork along the left thigh, complemented by white ruffled garter bands and ballet-inspired soft flats—not only visually elongating the leg lines, but also adding an airy, graceful lightness to the look.
The lighting design for this studio shoot demanded immense technical precision. Because the bodysuit's holographic laser finish is exceptionally reflective, any mishandling could easily look cheap or harsh. After extensive communication with the gaffer, we completely abandoned warm amber lights, relying exclusively on an interplay of cool white and bluish-purple light sources synced with the subtle internal glow of the jellyfish props to coax out that fluid metallic sheen across the fabric. The vintage CRT televisions, black mesh server racks, and strewn blue cables, paired with draping white sheer fabric, together built a scene reminiscent of a deep-sea data hub.
My posing was carefully choreographed to channel the tension of the environment. To emphasize the garment's tailoring and silhouette, I explored a wide range of physical expressions. Within the confined enclosure of the server rack, I stretched out the white fabric drapes, letting my body extend into fluid lines. My favorite shot remains the half-kneeling pose before the stack of televisions: resting on one knee not only accentuated the sculpted contours of the stockings, but also framed the neckline cut and collarbones beautifully. Pulling the white drapes open with both hands injected kinetic dynamism into the frame, which, paired with a cool, assertive gaze, delivered a striking visual impact that was both alluring and fiercely commanding. Constantly adjusting my postures to match the rack heights and camera angles was physically demanding, but seeing the luminous results on the preview monitors made all the fatigue vanish. Fusing retro analog electronics with futuristic holographic textures was an immensely satisfying creative endeavor.
