Bringing this Castorice set from Honkai: Star Rail to life required meticulous dedication, from preliminary wardrobe tailoring through final compositing. The costume features an iconic white-and-purple palette accented with sculpted dimensional florets at the bust and waist, complemented by layered details across the neckline and sleeves that demanded careful contour fitting. To preserve the dramatic silhouette, the skirt structure was reinforced with internal support so it would not collapse in motion. For the wig, I selected a silver-white tone with subtle grayish undertones and trimmed blunt front bangs; crowned with a black thorny headdress entwined with violet blossoms and prosthetic elf ears, the ethereal aura manifested immediately. Makeup focused on the eyes, using violet colored contacts against cool-toned facial shading to embody her signature aloof, mysterious grace.

The most physically taxing aspect was the weaponry. The massive scythe boasts an elongated haft crowned with an illuminated purple orb encasing an eye-or-crescent insignia. Holding such a weighty prop posed real challenges to core stability and easily triggered arm fatigue. To highlight the scythe's luminescence, studio key lighting was calibrated in a darkened environment with purplish-pink ambient tones. The colossal dragon and enchanted woodland backdrop were integrated during post-production; because locating a physical environment matching this high-fantasy lore was impossible, we shot against green screens and solid backdrops, paying strict attention to light direction and color temperature to ensure natural edge blending during digital compositing.

The digital assembly was equally complex. Rim highlights, drifting petals, and ambient mana motes were layered sequentially. To prevent a flat, artificial cutout appearance, layer opacity and blending modes were calibrated continuously, softening edges with custom brushes to weld live subject and CG scenery seamlessly. While the palette favored violet and pink tones, the intense studio strobes risked blowing out facial highlights, prompting highlight suppression and shadow recovery within Camera Raw to retain fabric weave and hair strand fidelity, while deepening background shadows to create rich chiaroscuro that accentuated the glowing weapon. Framing prioritized cinematic landscape proportions, granting ample breathing room for the scythe and dragon. Crafting each finished frame took hours of isolation, color grading, paint-over lighting, and digital matte painting, but seeing the imagined world realized makes the effort profoundly rewarding.
