[Castorice cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Casual Street Style for the Luckin Coffee Collaboration

Today's casual street look for Castorice was prepared specifically for the Luckin Coffee x Honkai: Star Rail collaboration event. When I first saw the campaign announcement, I thought a white sweater paired with a plaid skirt would seamlessly blend into daily life, making it the perfect coordinate for an outdoor shoot on a sunny afternoon.

I trimmed and styled the wig beforehand; the light purple gradient at the tips achieved a delightfully translucent glow under the sunlight. To capture the Elf ears cosplay aesthetic, I selected soft silicone prosthetic ears that matched my skin tone and blended the edges with concealer so close-up shots wouldn't appear harsh. For the makeup, focus was centered on the eyes, pairing purple contact lenses with soft pinkish-purple eyeshadow to accentuate a cool, slightly wistful gaze. Blush was applied lightly to brighten my facial complexion, which, complemented by a nude pink lip gloss, gave the makeup a fresh, breathable finish.

For the outfit, the white openwork off-the-shoulder knit sweater served as the centerpiece, made of a soft material that avoided any bulky feel. I intentionally wore the plaid scarf loosely over the shoulders rather than tying it tightly, leaning into an effortless, casual vibe. The dark plaid pleated skirt paired with silver chain accents introduced a cool, metallic edge to balance the softer tones. On my feet, lace-trimmed ankle socks and platform patent leather shoes visually elongated the leg lines while keeping walking comfortable and stable.

During the shoot, I explored several camera angles to work with the strong afternoon sunlight. Standing by the pedestrian bridge railing, I tilted my head slightly to let hair strands fall naturally while holding my light gray coat, channeling the relaxed mood of taking a breather during a shopping stroll. The set taken seated on the concrete ground aimed to highlight the skirt drape and leg contours—leaning my weight back against the railing with one hand bracing the ground and the other resting on the coat, keeping my gaze soft and relaxed. The pose squatting down with the paper bag took multiple attempts; we used continuous shooting across several takes to catch the most natural frame of hair fluttering in the breeze. That paper bag was a deliberate prop to evoke the feeling of having just grabbed collaboration coffee, adding a touch of everyday realism to the scene.

When shooting on location, tracking changing light and doing makeup touch-ups are essential. While sunlight at 3 or 4 PM is gorgeous, it easily washes out makeup details. During breaks, I routinely checked my base makeup and wig, as maintaining character integrity is fundamental to cosplay. This coordinate is wonderful for casual street outings—subtle enough for everyday wear while remaining instantly recognizable to fellow fans.

Mastering this casual cosplay style is all about weaving character hallmarks into realistic streetwear without feeling jarring. Harmonizing the elf ears with the headband, or contrasting purple hair with the plaid scarf, all required careful preparation beforehand. Walking around outdoors holding the kraft paper bag immersed me in that lighthearted ambiance. The entire session remained effortless, focusing on spontaneous, natural expressions rather than forced poses. Although wrapping up left me a bit tired, seeing the rich textures that light and shadow carved across the hair and knit sweater proved that all the meticulous prep on makeup, styling, and staging was well worth it.
