[Robin cosplay] Honkai: Star Rail Robin • Summeretto's refreshing Summer pool outfit

The shooting of Robin • Summeretto's swimsuit styling took a lot of energy from preparation to realization. This exterior shoot was chosen at an outdoor pool, wanting to match the theme that summer is all about playing in the water. The costume as a whole is a blue-and-white color scheme, with star patterns on the top, white flowers and pearl chains dotted at the waist, plus a flowing blue skirt hem. For the wig, I specially chose light blue-purple, braided thick braids on the side, and trimmed the bangs to modify the face shape. To restore the character's ethereal yet lively feeling, the golden star halo on top of the head and the purple-pink small wing props on the back were handmade and adjusted by myself. Since they needed to be fixed on the wig and ensure they wouldn't shake around during shooting, I did a lot of testing beforehand.
In terms of makeup, to match the summer exterior shoot, the base makeup was given a matte treatment, the eye makeup used green contact lenses, and yellow stars and pink sunburn makeup were dotted on the cheeks. This kind of 2D anime makeup easily looks dirty under outdoor natural light, so setting the makeup and color transition are very important. The shooting site had plenty of sunshine, and the pool water was blue and clear, matching the color of the clothes very well. The temperature was high, but soaking by the water side was indeed very cool, and the overall atmosphere fit the summer water-playing setting perfectly.
In terms of action design, I tried multiple angles of standing and sitting postures. When standing, raising the arms high can stretch the body lines while showcasing the waist and abdomen; when sitting by the pool, using the transparent daisy swim ring as a prop can enrich the frame while naturally showcasing the leg and side-body lines. To get satisfactory results, it was necessary to constantly adjust postures to ensure uniform facial light and shadow, while avoiding the swim ring from blocking the main body. This styling has less fabric, and how to use postures and camera angles to present healthy summer sexiness while maintaining a sense of freshness was the focus of communication with the photographer during the shooting.
Robin's Summeretto styling in Honkai: Star Rail gives me the feeling of a refreshing dream in midsummer. Wearing it and standing by the water, the whole person becomes relaxed. Although this exterior shoot got me a bit tanned, I am very satisfied with the light and shadow and colors of the finished photos, which also gave me more experience with Swimsuit cosplay.
In terms of shooting details, to showcase the texture of the swimsuit, the straps of the costume needed to be tied very tightly without leaving marks, so the wearing process was relatively time-consuming. During the exterior shoot, the glare of the sun was blinding, and eyes were easily unable to open, so it was necessary to try to find angles along the light or use the shadows of the swim ring to transition. When shooting through the transparent swim ring, refraction and reflection also needed special control. This time, multiple different action schemes were prepared, and finally a few finished photos with the most stretched postures and softest light and shadows were selected. Overall, exterior Summer pool shooting consumes a lot of physical strength, but the finished results are well worth it, hoping to pass on this summer coolness.
