This time, I am bringing you the Cosplay photoshoot of Firefly's bride look from Honkai: Star Rail. Although it is a derivative styling based on the existing character settings, we fully preserved her original traits in the design while blending in the holiness and dreaminess brought by wedding elements.
The details of this costume are incredibly rich. The overall base tone is pure white, but the skirt hem features a specially made cyan-blue gradient petal layered design, giving the otherwise large area of white more breathing room. The neckline at the chest is a bow ornament embellished with pearls and sequins, paired with light, fluffy cuffs and a well-layered veil, making the whole aura appear very translucent and soft. The yellow bow at the waist cleverly breaks the monotony of the large area of light colors, eye-catching yet not out of place.
For the wig selection, we restored Firefly's signature silver-white long hair, along with a black-and-cyan bow headband and draping thin black ribbons. In terms of makeup, I communicated with the photographer @悠酱_yoyo for a long time, opting for a relatively translucent and natural base makeup while placing the focus on the eye makeup, using a subtle blue light eyeshadow and a slightly rose-red lip color to echo the overall lightness.
The set design of the shooting venue is highly atmospheric. A massive Roman numeral clock, white stone pillars, blue floral arrangements, and black iron chains—these props and backdrops build a serene space that seems to exist in a dream. In such an environment, shooting this wedding gown look perfectly fits the core theme of "May we meet in the waking world."
The difficulty of this outfit lies in handling a large amount of tulle materials, especially the sense of layering between the inner and outer layers. White-themed clothing is extremely sensitive to light; slightly harsh light will cause the clothes to lose their details and turn into a solid block of white. This time, the overall diffuse reflection lighting was kept very soft, which not only preserved the texture of the clothing fabric but also made the light on the face look very clean. To adjust the drape of the skirt hem during the shoot, we tried repeatedly from different angles. Although the process was tedious, seeing the final photos present such a light and elegant flow made all the hard work worthwhile.
