Tonight's convention photos from Firefly ACG Expo are finally ready! This night shoot for Castorice turned out to be far more demanding than anticipated. While this costume's color palette looks delightfully fresh in daylight, I was determined to capture the moody ambiance of shifting nocturnal lights and shadows, so I kept my photographer waiting in the streets near the convention venue until dusk fell. To embody that serene yet vibrant vitality described in her character, we invested serious effort into the lighting setup: a key light in front illuminated my face and the reflective sheen of the skirt, while alternating cool and warm backlights sculpted rich depth in the background.

Speaking of the outfit, it's packed with intricate details. A white tube top accented with purple lace-up ribbons, flowing ruffled hemline, and gradient fabrics look exceptionally textured under night lights. The floral crown headpiece was reinforced with both hairpins and hairspray for fear it might get knocked off in the convention crowds. Additionally, those asymmetrical White stockings required deliberate posing; if you don't stand just right, they can easily look awkward. I made sure to elongate my leg lines in every pose, paired with high-heeled booties to maximize my overall body proportions.

The source of greatest pressure was undeniably the giant scythe prop. It has immense volume and an awkward center of gravity, making carrying it around the crowded expo a true physical workout. Yet seeing the scythe's sharp, elegant curves harmonizing flawlessly with the purple-and-white outfit in the final shots made every effort worthwhile. To hold it steady, I constantly recalibrated my wrist grip before the lens, making sure the movements looked effortless rather than strained.

For makeup, to complement the elf ears, I opted for soft reddish-pink eyeshadow to elongate the eye shape, paired with light-colored contact lenses for a gentle, tranquil gaze. After walking around the convention all day, my energy was nearly depleted, but the moment I stepped in front of the lens, the adrenaline kicked right back in. To evoke that poetic sense of rebirth, the photographer guided me through several over-the-shoulder glances and clasped-hand poses against the twinkling bokeh of city lights. Because the staff-scythe was so heavy, certain poses required finding resting fulcrums so my body could share the load. Convention hall photography truly tests adaptability: amid noisy crowds and chaotic ambient lights, creating stellar photos demands both the photographer's expertise and the cosplayer's character immersion. Since the fabric easily reflects glare, I reminded the photographer to watch the angles carefully so harsh highlights wouldn't blow out the fabric details. Tremendous thought went into everything from styling to props, and seeing how beautifully it all translated under the night lights makes me genuinely thrilled.
