[Shimoe Koharu cosplay] Blue Archive, a frozen moment in a pure white sea of flowers

The theme of this shoot is this pure white Bridal cosplay look. The whole scene was built on a pure white circular base, surrounded by a sea of blue and white artificial flowers. To present that ethereal and sacred feel, we specifically used high-angle overhead shots and close-up angles for Anime-style photography. The composition in Photo 1 is more focused, and combined with the white bouquet in hand, the mood comes alive instantly.

For styling, the wig was carefully trimmed and styled. The pink halo headpiece on top of her head is one of the soul elements of this outfit, with dark blue ribbon bows tied on both sides to create a warm-and-cool color contrast. The bow tie is in the same dark blue tone, adding a visual anchor to the overall pure white outfit. The skirt features multi-layered ruffles and light tulle, offering rich texture whether walking or sitting, accented with small blue floral decorations that fit the Pure White Oath theme. The legs are paired with pure white over-the-knee socks, echoing the white skirt to keep full-body lines clean and neat.

During the shoot, the photographer chose soft lighting without harsh shadows to preserve that dreamlike quality. Since my personal cosplay style leans toward delicate character portraits, I paid special attention to eye expression. That quiet gaze looking into the lens in Photo 1 conveys the character's slightly cool yet expectant demeanor.

As for props, the bouquet was custom-made to match the blue and white palette of the scene. The Roman pillar on the right was added to expand depth of field in post-scene layout, serving as a nice visual accent in the overhead shot (Photo 2) so the frame doesn't feel empty. The white base and flower clusters form a semi-enclosed space, making sitting inside feel very gentle and sweet.

Preparing this work took quite some time beforehand, especially the wig styling and costume details. To keep the halo headpiece stable, a small steel wire was used to hold its shape. The bow tie's knot was adjusted multiple times to achieve a crisp yet not overly rigid look. Although the flowers were artificial, their great texture gave holding them a genuine sense of solemnity as if attending a ceremony. From makeup, hair, and costume fitting to lighting adjustments, the entire process took nearly four hours, and the final photos achieved the expected result.

Creating this atmosphere with a dominant blue-and-white color scheme really tests the lighting. If the light is too hard, highlights blow out and lose detail; if too soft, the image looks dull. The final lighting is clear and translucent, presenting the clean, bright style I aimed for. The delicate tulle on the dress spreads naturally when sitting, laying along the edge of the white base as if merging into the flower bed.

Sometimes when doing studio or location shoots, different compositional perspectives bring completely distinct feels. Photo 1 offers a close-up share where you can see the fabric seams, wig sheen, and eye details; whereas Photo 2's overhead perspective fully establishes the environment, creating an immersive sense of presence. Every shutter click freezes the moment when character and scene align most perfectly.

Organizing the photos after the shoot and seeing these images made all the preparation feel truly worthwhile. Even without complex poses, just quietly sitting or holding a bouquet, this soft, serene temperament is the core message of this styling. Atmosphere doesn't always rely on bold color blocking—large expanses of white and blue with a hint of pink decoration offer a pure feel akin to first snow.
