The convention photo set from the Firefly Anime convention is finally here, capturing this Blue Archive Shimoe Koharu look together with the photographer. This setup involved plenty of fine details: the floating pink halo overhead, the red rose on the beret, and the black-and-white feathers on the side—just securing these accessories took considerable time. The jacket collar features a sailor-style design with pink trim; to convey that casual and slightly rebellious vibe, I intentionally slipped one side off the shoulder during shooting, using the thin black camisole strap to balance out the prim look of the white top.
For the lower half, a pink plaid skirt was paired with White stockings, black platform leather shoes, and matching pink trim along the sock cuffs. Since the character has a rather lively personality, I really loved the two poses arranged by the photographer. The second photo features a seated pose on a chair with a high leg kick, an angle that beautifully highlights the skirt flare and leg lines. The third is a frozen jump shot where, combined with the massive black wings on my back against the dark background and ambient venue lighting, a distinctive sense of levity and floating grace comes through. Even as live convention photos, the photographer nailed the shutter timing, and the post-processing retained a deep background bokeh that keeps the frame remarkably clean.
The lighting at the venue was quite chaotic and the crowds were thick, making it tough to frame a clean full-body shot without stray passersby—especially while bearing the substantial weight of those large black wings, controlling body balance mid-jump, and landing in rigid platform shoes. Even so, capturing that cute character aura made every bit of effort worthwhile. The contrast of White stockings, chunky black soles, and wings created intense visual impact under the lights. This shoot also gave me deeper insights into managing light and shadow at conventions, making it a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
