[Shimoe Koharu cosplay] Blue Archive On-Site at Firefly ACG Expo

The Shimoe Koharu cosplay photos from this Firefly ACG Expo have finally been compiled. To faithfully recreate this character, a lot of thought went into preparing the outfit. The black halter-neck bodysuit paired with the golden flower ornament at the neckline and the black neck straps creates a flattering, slim silhouette. During the shoot, I intentionally matched it with a white plush fur shawl accented with small pink bows, which gave my hands a natural spot to rest and added variety to the posing. The pink halo above the head and the small black wings on the back were custom-made with great support, staying firmly in place without tilting even in the crowded convention environment. For props, I prepared a folding fan with a black-to-purple gradient print and black ribs, perfectly capturing the character's tsundere yet slightly mischievous aura. On my feet were black patent-leather block-heeled Mary Janes, which nicely elongated the leg lines.

The convention had heavy foot traffic, so we specifically found a window-side spot along the edge of the hall, where clean natural afternoon light shone through the glass. The background here featured softly blurred city buildings and crowds below, which helped the subject pop beautifully. The first two photos were taken sitting cross-legged on the floor, while the third adopted a seated cross-legged pose on a white chair to highlight better leg proportions and waist curves. I touched up my makeup multiple times during the shoot; because the venue was quite warm, the fur collar tended to rub off makeup, but the overall photos turned out with great texture. As a share, this set of photos showcases details of the character's signature colors and accessories, with the post-processing reducing saturation slightly to keep the black-and-white palette clean and crisp. Shooting this set also deepened my understanding of Shimoe Koharu—her balance of upholding a sense of justice while having a slight temper is wonderful to express through subtle body language, such as covering half her face with the fan or looking slightly downward into the lens. Moving around with the wing props was slightly inconvenient, but totally worth it for the final results. We used various perspective aids on-site, including ground-level angles and elevated chair shots, to visually capture the character's charm. The true meaning of Convention photos lies in recording these moments driven by genuine passion for Anime cosplay.
