This time I attempted the look of Little Doctor Fairy from Battle Through the Heavens. I've always loved this white-and-purple color-blocking Xianxia style, and the result turned out even lighter and more ethereal than expected.
The wig is long, straight silver-white hair. Since it's quite thick, I spent a lot of time before shooting to handle frizz at the edges and sprayed styling spray so the hair flutters naturally with movement. For the blue-purple forehead ornament, I used a stick-on method so it wouldn't easily fall off with oil or sweat. The makeup focus was around the eyes, using reddish-purple eyeshadow paired with light-colored contacts to deepen eye contours, while keeping blush subtle to highlight the character's signature cool, ethereal aura.
The cut of the Cosplay costume is quite interesting. The upper body features an off-the-shoulder lantern sleeve design with purple bow decorations at the shoulders. The cuffs are wide white water sleeves; when walking or extending arms, the gauze fabric drapes beautifully. The silver metal carved waist ornament at the midsection has rich details, creating a strong contrast with the dark purple inner outfit. The lower half is a dark purple glitter gauze long skirt designed with a high slit; when moving, the skirt flutters, perfectly revealing the pale purple platform block heels. The silver metal buckles on the shoe toes echo the silver elements on the belt.
While shooting these Convention photos, we picked a dim area on the second floor of the venue, where the dark background contrasted nicely with the white and purple of the outfit. In one photo sitting on a black tall bar stool, I deliberately adjusted my pose to let the skirt drape naturally, exposing leg lines to look longer and sleeker. Another shot was taken lying on a white plush rug, where the platform shoes and skirt hem intertwined under roof spotlights, creating a soft light and shadow atmosphere. The veiled shots feel very fitting for the mysterious side of this character—half-covered in white gauze with only eyes showing, adding a narrative touch.
I'm particularly satisfied with the single-leg standing posture. The pose required maintaining balance while controlling the drape direction of the water sleeves and skirt. Thankfully, the skirt's drape was great, capturing a stretched, relaxed posture at that exact moment. Although the shoes look ornate, the thick soles made standing surprisingly stable. Styling hair, dressing, applying false eyelashes, and carrying big bags around the convention was tiring, but seeing the character brought to life in front of the lens made all the effort completely worth it in this Traditional Chinese style cosplay experience. Appearing in this look allowed me to experience another lifestyle in this adventure world.
