[Jalter cosplay] Fate/Grand Order: Jeanne Sisters' Qipao-Style Photo Collection

For this shoot, we selected the cheongsam series for Jalter and Jeanne. Jalter's sleeveless black modified cheongsam preserves traditional Chinese elements like the mandarin collar and frog fasteners, tailored into a form-fitting cut with high side slits that flatter the leg lines while reclining. The crimson sigil pattern across the chest pairs with black metallic chains to add visual depth, while black arm wraps and Black stockings introduce a contemporary edge into the antique aesthetic. Jeanne's white cheongsam is finished with gold piping, delicate silver chains across the collar and bust, and understated gold embroidery along the hem. Paired with sheer white thigh-high stockings and white heels, her look leans decidedly graceful and tender.

In terms of hair and makeup, Jalter's silver-white short wig required textured, voluminous layers, while her black clawed headpiece demanded generous hairspray and bobby pins to sit flush against the forehead. Crimson-brown eyeshadow deepened the contours, paired with dark contact lenses to lend her gaze a piercing sharpness. Jeanne's platinum-blonde crop was paired with a silver-grey winged headpiece; because the accessory carries noticeable weight, balancing its center of gravity was essential. Azure lenses and pastel makeup softened her overall demeanor.

The studio set was dressed as a classical Chinese interior: dark wood-grained walls flanked by a glowing circular orb mimicking a full moon, with cascading white floral branches beside it. Calligraphy scrolls, an antique daybed, and plush white fur rugs kept the overarching palette within cool, low-key tones. Igniting a small amount of atmospheric smoke tablets under cool white strobes imbued the scene with an ethereal, quiet chill. During preparation, the metallic chains required continual untangling checks. Jalter's black folding fan served as an exceptional prop—fanning out or shielding the face to enrich the narrative. While Jeanne remained serene, her posture and gaze maintained poised dignity.

Capturing two-shots with Illya highlighted the stark black-and-white color contrast within the frame. Posing across the wooden daybed proved challenging: reclining required bracing my torso while ensuring the drape of the skirt and the high slit remained visually clean. Adjusting hand placement around the fan also took multiple attempts to avoid stiffness. The shot where Jeanne rested her head on my lap required both of us to freeze entirely while hunting for the optimal angle and lighting balance, taking dozens of takes to nail the final look. Because the wooden platform had limited surface area, we pushed two chairs together and framed carefully to prevent breaks in the illusion, relying entirely on in-camera compositions rather than digital collaging. Fill bounce boards were used indoors to lift facial shadows and prevent harsh contrasts.

Since my focus was Jalter, I deliberately maintained a subtle, aloof distance in my expressions and posture, while still preserving subtle synergy during duo interactions. Illya's Jeanne balanced the frame with gentle softness, weaving dynamic and static energies together seamlessly. Because the full moon prop generated noticeable heat, we paused every few shots to adjust equipment, touch up cosmetics, and smooth the wigs. Ultimately, great care went into every detail of the wardrobe and set ambiance, capturing the opposing charms of Jalter and Jeanne d'Arc cosplay. I hope these visuals convey the rich duality and magnetic appeal of both heroines.
