[Rin cosplay] Praised by the Voice Actor & 8 Takes on Okita: My 2025 TYPE-MOON and Touhou Journey

Here comes the data recap for 2025! Throughout this year, I completed a total of 38 photo sets, including 21 TYPE-MOON works, 10 Touhou works, and stepped into Okita cosplay a full 8 times. While I did fewer Touhou sets than before, my mindset has shifted away from chasing sheer volume toward pursuing high-caliber artistic expression, giving my all to portray Gensokyo as I envision it. Looking back over the year truly proves all the crazy things done out of love for 2D passion—even when exhausted to the point of collapse, these moments remain an indispensable part of my life.

This year took me to many new destinations beyond the Tokyo area, traveling through Yunnan, Nagano, Karuizawa, Nikko, Mount Fuji, Fukuoka, Kofu, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Sendai, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and beyond. Every venture into an untrodden outdoor location to discover settings that resonated with the characters was an invaluable experience. Braving the freezing cold at the foot of Mount Fuji or chasing the golden sunset by the Hiroshima seaside allowed me to deeply feel the harmony between character and environment. My goal before graduation is to conquer all 47 prefectures of Japan and complete every dream outdoor shoot on my list.

Conventions also defined a massive chapter of this year: achieved perfect attendance at Touhou Reitaisai and participated in FGO Fes on both JP and CN servers, meeting online friends face-to-face in an incredible way. The most unforgettable highlight happened while wearing Rin cosplay (paired with Black stockings), when the voice actor associated with the character personally approached me to chat, asked for a photo together, and told me I was a perfect fit for the role. In that split second, all the sweat and dedication felt wholly seen—receiving validation from the official voice talent was the absolute highest affirmation of my love for cosplay.

Alongside cosplaying, I have consistently pursued photography (Photo 7). Though I post less frequently now, the camera has never left my hands, granting me more time to ponder lighting, contrast, and composition. I aim to uncover more of my signature aesthetic this year through steady learning. To deliver stellar sets, I devoted immense care to organizing costumes and collecting merchandise (Photos 8 & 9), all of which bear witness to a year of joy.

Special thanks go out to @TiebanYouyu—thank you for staying by my side through endless late nights, long travels, and countless pose refinements at remote locations. Supporting each other through deep snow and seeking shade together under the scorching sun are cherished memories. Thank you for your patience and warmth, filling every 2025 memory with color and heart.

In the new year, I hope to continue chasing spring cherry blossoms, summer hydrangeas, autumn maple leaves, and winter snow. Reflecting on this journey, connecting with so many fellow enthusiasts through cosplay is a true blessing. Every memory will be treasured deep within as I continue to move forward.
