The original intention behind this bunny girl outfit was to break away from the stereotypical impression of a "bunny girl," blending the mysterious aesthetic of a Western retro magician and a professor to endow the character with a cynical yet commanding sense of composure. I chose high-gloss patent leather as the primary material for the bodysuit, and its texture under the warm yellow lights of the bar counter was exceptionally striking, perfectly matching the balance of glamour and coolness I wanted to express. The large red bow tie at the neckline serves as the visual anchor of the entire ensemble; a flash of bright crimson breaks the monotony of black and gray, breathing lively dynamism into the look. The bunny-ear beret on my head and the black cane are the character's signature soul props. Such accessories with vintage theatrical flair consistently generate unexpected visual tension during the process of bringing anime characters into reality.
For the makeup, I deliberately deepened the red eyeshadow blending to echo the bow tie, amplifying the cynical, self-assured "grinning" nature of the character. The bangs of the blonde wig were meticulously trimmed to ensure they wouldn't appear too bulky under the bar's warm ambient lighting. What required the most care during the shoot was actually maintaining the patent leather outfit: because the studio and venue lights were quite warm, this fabric is prone to creasing, necessitating constant adjustments to sitting and standing postures to maintain smooth, pristine reflections. Because the texture of the outfit is inherently eye-catching, the poses and facial expressions could not be overly flattering or coy; they had to radiate the effortless mastery distinctive to a high-IQ persona.
The shooting location was chosen in a charming wooden bar, where the "SPANISH BAR" wooden beam overhead and the bottles stacked along the counter greatly enhanced the cinematic narrative. The pairing of the black tights outfit with patent leather sculpted the leg lines impeccably. Throughout the shoot, the photographer and I collaborated to capture many casual, candid moments—such as winking with a peace sign, or casually resting the cane against the counter edge. Rather than rigid, standard posing, these relaxed snapshots better conveyed the core essence of the character. Toward the end of the session, wearing a corset for hours and holding props took a physical toll, but in moments where cool breezes intertwined with warm light, seeing the retro atmosphere displayed on the monitor made every bit of effort worthwhile. I thoroughly enjoy this experience of dimension-crossing character creation, where meticulous attention to detail and emotional devotion ultimately culminated in this cinematic anime cosplay portrait work.
