Shooting this official cosplay set of Grinning Professor from Blue Archive by the pool yielded an overall look that felt far crisper and more refreshing than originally imagined.

Starting with styling: the wig was selected in a pale platinum-blonde with cool undertones, cut with blunt fringe bangs along the forehead and delicate wavy sidelocks along the temples to contour the jawline. Makeup focused heavily on the eyes and cheeks: light-blue contact lenses paired with meticulously blended eye contouring and an expansive wash of soft-pink blush across the apples of the cheeks to channel her enigmatic yet playful demeanor. The golden geometric headpiece atop the crown was the defining accessory of this build—boasting an intricate silhouette of circular halos and radiant starburst rays, secured into the wig mesh with discreet black bobby pins and micro-adjusted repeatedly prior to rolling so it never sat crooked on camera.

Wardrobe-wise, the coordinate featured a sailor-style flap collar over a white short-sleeved top paired with a navy-blue one-piece Swimsuit bodysuit. Twin white racing stripes along the collar and an eye-catching crimson bow at the bust injected vibrant color blocking. Shoot day enjoyed gorgeous weather: the sky was an immaculate azure blue, and the pool surface danced with shimmering refractions. Light-colored square tiles bordered the basin, framed by background palm fronds and distant architecture that created a breezy resort ambiance. The first sequence framed me seated at the water's edge, bending knees outward while reaching both hands down to clasp my ankles—a posture requiring tight core engagement and a subtle forward lean that looks relaxed on camera but proved physically taxing, leaving my legs burning after a dozen takes. To sculpt organic chiaroscuro, the photographer explored diverse vantage points across high and low camera elevations. The second sequence featured standing on one leg while clutching a blue-and-white inflatable pool float, lifting the other leg backward in dynamic extension. This demanded serious equilibrium; balancing the weighted float atop slick poolside tiles required careful footwork, especially with damp soles.

Intense sunlight offered abundant illumination—with water reflections acting as an organic bounce card—yet threatened harsh, unflattering downward shadows across the face. To bypass the punishing midday zenith, we held off briefly until the sun tilted into a softer directional angle, carving out dimensional facial planes while enriching the aquamarine depth of the pool water. Throughout takes, we calibrated framing continuously to ensure the figure remained the commanding visual anchor while cropping out background clutter and bystanders.
