This shoot revolved around swimwear and a School swimsuit outfit concept, staged at an outdoor pool at night with broad banana leaves serving as foreground elements. Heavy rain began pouring during the shoot; while we initially worried the storm might compromise our shots, pairing it with powerful frontal fill lighting transformed the falling rain into a luminous, glistening atmospheric layer.
I portrayed Takanashi Rikka, wearing a classic black school swimsuit accented by her iconic yellow bow and eye patch. Soaked under the rain, the fabric grew surprisingly heavy; the White tights cosplay look with leg garters turned semi-sheer once saturated, clinging flush to the skin for a striking visual impact. My partner portrayed Satone Shichimiya cosplay, pairing pink twin tails with sweet, vibrant makeup. Her pink one-piece suit and amusement-park-style water gun aligned seamlessly with the lively tone.
To highlight their contrasting personalities, we explored dynamic interactions. My favorite frame is sitting poolside: feet dipped in the water with droplets clinging to the white hosiery under crisp key lights, beautifully elongating the leg lines. Standing stances brandishing colorful water pistols captured the chaotic energy of a water fight, with flying splashes frozen vividly under strobe flashes. Shielding the wigs from direct rain with broad banana leaves preserved our styling while introducing natural organic texture. Deep night backgrounds made the swimwear pop against the pool's mosaic tiles, turning this fusion of anime styling and practical poolside shooting into a memorable creative venture.
