[Viviana cosplay] Settling Among Classical Sculptures: Arknights' Moment of Quietude

Putting on this signature outfit of Candle Knight Viviana, the most direct feeling is a sense of layering and weight. First is the massive black antler-like headpiece on my head, which features an irregular sharp design and requires very careful weight balancing when worn; otherwise, even slightly tilting my head could disturb the overall look. The hairstyle is a cool-toned blonde short hair, a color contrast that paired with the black-and-white main tone outfit perfectly fits the character's detached, cool disposition. Next is the iconic black-and-white spliced cape: the outer white fabric is thick with crisp edges, while the inner lining is a deep black. The front straps, metal buckles, and cords directly elevate the costume's overall texture.

The indoor setting chosen for this shoot carries a strong classical sense of ceremony. The ground features dark grey steps, flanked symmetrically by white angel sculptures with exquisite relief textures on their bases. This sharp contrast between marble and black-and-white attire fills the frame with a solemn visual tension. During shooting, I intentionally tried a pose closing my eyes while leaning close to one of the sculptures, attempting to feel the character's subtly reserved posture in a quiet environment, as if conversing across time and space. The close-up shot standing between the two sculptures placed greater focus on overall composition; an upright posture combined with the naturally draping cape perfectly showcased the falling lines of the fabric before the lens.

For makeup and styling, I kept things as subtle and restrained as possible without using overly heavy eye makeup or intense colors, aiming instead to stay close to the character's setting through authentic skin texture and natural hair lines. Though the outfit looks heavy, paired with the dark background behind, light hitting the white outer robe cleanly outlined the silhouette edges. Bringing such a mysterious and sacred costume into reality relies not only on the efforts of costume designers and makeup artists, but also requires mastering center of gravity and posture during shooting. On set, reflector positions were adjusted several times to capture garment texture details, and thanks to smooth teamwork, we ultimately presented this crisp light-and-shadow effect at specific angles in this Cosplay photography shoot.

In fact, during early preparations for this outfit, we discussed many structural aspects of the costume. From securing the antler headpiece to positioning the cape ties on the body, every detail underwent repeated adjustments just to deliver better visual impact. During shooting, to keep the cape's hem tidy, I had to constantly mind my footsteps to avoid stepping on the edges. This relatively quiet and solemn composition heavily tests the model's self-control, though fortunately, the slender, upright tailoring of the costume implicitly helped improve my standing posture.

The choice of venue for this shoot was also carefully considered. Pure white sculptures against a dark venue allowed the character's outline to pop, forming a still visual center. The close-up of quiet meditation with closed eyes and the long shot standing straight forward felt like a complete narrative fragment. From headpiece to costume, down to the expression of body language, every step captured the character's spiritual core. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to bring the character into such an environment. Every crease in the fabric, the sparkle of metal buckles, the sheen of the wig, and the lore behind this Role-playing game made me immerse even deeper in front of the lens. The frozen moments are not just a record, but also a transmission of atmosphere. Looking back at these final photos after completing the shoot, I still feel that the visual design of this look and the environment produced a wonderful chemical reaction—both the solemnity of the grand scene and the serenity of the close-up were beautifully preserved in the frames. This experience of immersing oneself in the work and character truly brings a great deal of unique reflection and satisfaction.
