When shooting this Misaki look, the air conditioning in the studio was actually kept running on cooling, because for this winter-themed plush styling, if the indoor temperature were too high, the wig strands and sweater texture would easily appear frizzy or sweaty. Considering the character's overall color palette, the off-white sleeveless knitted Turtleneck sweater became the core visual anchor for the upper body. This material and design truly test the model's body proportions, wrapping the neck with a high collar while exposing the full arms, focusing attention around the shoulders and collarbones.
We spent quite a lot of time on hair and makeup. The deep blue-black twin-tail wig has subtle layering, and to keep it fluffy beneath the weight of the plush animal-ear hat, we used numerous hairpins to secure it. The light blue bows on both sides and the dangling white yarn pom-poms are super cute, but during actual shooting, these small accessories easily tangled with hair strands or blocked the line of sight, so we had to readjust their positions every time we changed scenes.
The lower body styling is a visually unique part of this Cosplay outfit. The white knitted loose socks do not cling tightly to the legs; instead, they slouch naturally into textured folds, creating a lazy, relaxed vibe in contrast with the hem of the short sweater. Because the overall look is barefoot, when switching to the metal folding chair for shooting, I took extra care to keep my feet clean and avoid getting dust on the white loose socks. Although the studio floor had been swept, dark dust stands out mercilessly against pure white garments.
This set of photos was captured by photographer Koharu Shimoe. This time, we opted for a simple, solid grey-white background, foregoing complex outdoor locations or elaborate sets. Without distracting colors, it better highlights the knit texture of the beige sweater, the subtle sheen of the blue twin-tail wig, and the layered lighting of the white loose socks. Throughout the shoot, the photographer mastered the composition and timing of the snaps; capturing vivid emotions against a solid background truly relies on the photographer's guidance.
The semi-transparent whale watermark at the top of the photos is the photographer's signature logo and a hallmark of our collaboration. Although certain areas received necessary post-production blur for privacy, it doesn't detract from the soft, slightly contrasting visual atmosphere the overall styling aims to convey. As a shoot leaning towards casual daily life and a cozy, lazy recreation, it was a very enjoyable experience, spending a focused day in the studio wrapped in warm, plush items.
