Today, I am excited to share this Honor of Kings Xiao Qiao Pure White Wedding photoshoot, a collaborative shoot with photographer Pulao411. When I first received this costume, the intricate details truly blew me away. The bodice features generous amounts of delicate white lace, with a high collar and a tasteful chest cutout that balances bridal elegance with youthful, maidenly charm. The detached sleeves are crafted from elongated sheer lace trimmed with silver metallic filigree. Down below, the skirt is exceptionally voluminous and multi-tiered, with white fabrics outlined by scalloped gold-thread piping. The colossal gilded rose perched at the waistline is an absolute showstopper, while tiny rhinestones and lustrous pearls hand-sewn across the fabric sparkled radiantly under the studio strobes whenever I moved.

The red-and-gold crown resting atop my head served as the heart and soul of the styling; anchoring it securely required several bobby pins crisscrossed into the hair. For the wig, I selected a warm brown shade, carefully styling the signature curled side buns and accessorizing them with pearl hair chains to bring the canonical silhouette instantly to life. Because the skirt is short and expansive, I purposefully paired it with over-the-knee White stockings. This not only flattered the leg contours but also elongated visual body proportions, stabilizing the overall center of gravity.

The set design on the day of the shoot was utterly dreamlike—an immersive sea of pastel pink filled with Hello Kitty plushies and floating balloons that complemented the Pure White Wedding motif to perfection. To channel Xiao Qiao's lively yet slightly bashful essence, I rehearsed the bouquet-holding posture countless times. Cradling such an enormous arrangement of pink roses proved surprisingly heavy, especially when holding it single-handedly, requiring sustained arm tension; yet for that dreamy, fairytale atmosphere, every ounce of physical effort felt trivial.

People often joke that the three golden rules of cosplay portraiture are 'model looks good, model looks good, and model looks good.' While humorous, in actual practice, a photographer's lighting mastery and compositional direction are profoundly vital. Pulao411 was exceedingly professional. During our creative dialogue, she guided me on camera angles that accentuated the dimensional tiers of the dress—especially when seated, as the skirt tends to bunch up and needs to be spread out section by section so the underlying lace and shimmer can catch the light. To ensure my gaze looked dynamic and alive, I did my utmost to keep my eyes expressive, allowing that gentle warmth to radiate through the lens.

Xiao Qiao has always been an adored character in Honor of Kings, and the Pure White Wedding skin is a cherished classic in the hearts of countless players. To do justice to this iconic bridal look, I did extensive homework on both makeup and deportment. The base was applied light and translucent, with the eye makeup contoured to accentuate the bright blue contact lenses. Between takes, I continually refined how I held the floral bouquet and sat on the sofa, striving to keep my posture effortless and relaxed rather than appearing stiff or forced.

Wearing layered tulle petticoats and long lace sleeves for extended periods did become quite warm, but seeing the magical frames emerge on the camera monitor made every second worthwhile. I deeply relish the creative journey of becoming the character before the lens—transforming a flat, digital game illustration into a three-dimensional reality through styling, cosmetics, and set design is precisely where the magic of cosplay lies.
