To shoot this Manga Sorceress photo set, a lot of thought went into both the styling and the set. The main costume is a mini skirt pieced together in white, purple, and black; the halter and off-the-shoulder cut combines with lantern sleeves, while the bows on the chest and waist are accented with bright blue gemstones, offering both the grandeur of a sorceress and the lightness of a young girl. For the wig, I specially selected a soft gradient of light blue and light purple, styled with twin topknots and wispy bangs. During makeup, fine glitter was dusted between the hair strands, and paired with Teacher Yuchen's eye makeup design, bright blue contact lenses made the gaze appear crystal-clear.
The shooting location was Chenxing Photography Studio. The set utilized abundant blue and purple drapes, with transparent star charms and beaded garlands cascading from the ceiling. Together with the cool-toned facial lighting set by the gaffer, the entire environment matched the sorceress's mysterious and dreamy temperament perfectly. The reflective floor material also provided great spatial depth, so even in raw unedited previews without VFX, rich tiers of light and shadow were clearly visible in this Dreamy scene.
Regarding props, I deliberately prepared this black cat plush toy with rainbow stripes. Not every witch has a little black cat, so holding it while interacting before the camera brought a delightful sense of contrast. During the shoot, I experimented with various bodily poses, such as crossing my legs atop a white Roman pillar or reaching an arm out toward the lens, utilizing the flow of the oversized sleeves to inject dynamic motion into the frame. This not only fully displayed the tiers of the skirt hem, but also made the finished photos look more vivid.
To highlight the character's personality, I constantly adjusted my expressions—Manga Sorceress shouldn't just be cute, but must also radiate confidence and playfulness. Details like gesturing with one hand or slightly tilting my head toward the camera helped flesh out the character in 3D. The vintage candelabra, white palace lanterns, and floral arrangements on set served as wonderful atmospheric accents, with the cohesive blue-purple palette focusing all visual attention on the character. The entire set of photos avoided overly exaggerated post-processing, mainly preserving costume textures and the original ambiance of the scene, while striving for natural tension in poses and expressions in this cosplay.
