The customized outfit Robin convention photos from the Changsha Moeka Comic Convention have finally been sorted out. This time I cosplayed that singer from the Family in Honkai: Star Rail, choosing to present her with this white angel styling, hoping to recreate the dreamlike yet approachable temperament of the character.
Let's first talk about the overall makeup and styling concept. For the wig, I chose long curly hair with a gradient interlaced with light blue and white. Paired with the golden floating halo on top of my head and small feather wings on both sides, it visually reinforces Robin's ethereal vibe. The eye makeup was specially customized: light blue colored contacts paired with a blend of pink eyeshadow make my gaze look deeper and softer. Together with the dot decorations on my cheeks, I hoped to better replicate the character's exquisiteness. The white choker and double-layered pearl necklace on my neck enriched the details of the pure white dress, which, paired with lace tulle gloves, made the overall look appear more layered in the real shots at the exhibition site.
For the photography, I want to give a special thanks to photographer ่่ๅธๅ
ๆๆปก็-้ฃ้ฝ. The lighting in the Changsha Moeka exhibition hall was actually very messy, and the crowd was massive, but his snapshots were extremely precise. Especially in the use of the cool-toned key light, he beautifully highlighted the highlights of the wig, the angel halo, and the texture of the pearl necklace, giving the entire set of photos a built-in soft, cool, and celestial ambient feel.
In terms of action design, I didn't just strike stiff standing poses. In Photo 3, I tried spreading my hands, cooperating with the wing ornaments on my head to create a sense of movement as if the wings were about to unfold. On the other hand, the moments in Photo 4 and Photo 5 where I held a makeup mirror and lipstick to touch up my makeup felt more like a quiet snippet of the character organizing herself at a busy venue. Such actions are more vivid and natural, breaking the stiffness that often occurs in convention photos. Besides keeping the makeup tidy, practicing how to maintain a relaxed facial expression under such a high-intensity anime convention setting is also necessary.
As a singer, Robin's line "a bird is born without bounds" actually perfectly aligns with the original intention of this customized outfit design. The white dress and wing designs are not just a good-looking attire, but they also hope to convey that sense of lightness and breaking free. Although it was in the public environment of an anime convention, standing in front of the lens in this outfit truly made me unconsciously adjust my posture, striving to express the character's gentle, elegant, yet firm inner traits.
Although convention photos lack the complete absence of background noise found in studio shoots, this authentic sense of live interaction actually gives this photo set an extra touch of vividness. From the wig to the dress, a lot of thought went into matching every accessory for this styling. Being able to leave a satisfying event photo delivery at the Changsha Moeka Comic Convention makes me feel that all the preparation over this period was entirely worth it. I also gained a lot of new inspiration while organizing the photos, and I hope to continue improving my expressiveness for the character, taking the visual experience that this customized Robin styling brings to everyone a step further.
