A tremendous amount of thought went into the costume, hair, and makeup for this Honor of Kings Daji My Melody themed shoot. To recreate that dreamy, sweet ambiance, we did extensive homework on set staging and detail control.

First, regarding the dress: the overall palette embraces soft pastel blue and white macaron tones, looking exceptionally gentle on camera. The skirt was constructed with multi-layered volume, held up by a petticoat to achieve a lovely poofy flare, while the outer layer was lavishly finished with white lace trims and ruffles. A petite plush animal charm was deliberately hung at the waist to add an extra touch of playfulness. The neckline features an asymmetrical off-the-shoulder camisole cut, which, paired with the lace collar and wrist cuffs, reveals an airy girlish grace amidst all the sweetness. For the lower half, pairing white semi-sheer thigh-high Stockings with Mary Jane leather shoes beautifully flattered the leg lines during shooting.

For the wig, I selected a fluffy short pink style. To give the hair an airy lightness, I thinned and prepped the interior layers while styling the outer strands into soft, subtly tousled curves, making it appear far more dynamic before the lens. The headpiece is an oversized white ribbon bow infused with animal-ear elements; its plush fuzzy borders paired with mini pink bows harmonized impeccably with the overall adorable aesthetic.

The makeup leaned into an anime-inspired doll look. The base was kept pristine and translucent, placing core focus on the eye makeup: wearing large-diameter pale contact lenses, elongating the eye shape, and layering delicate, fluttery lashes. Blush was swept generously across the cheeks, paired with a dewy lip tint to convey an effortless aura of innocence.

The studio set was decorated with abundant pink and blue balloons, gift boxes, scattered confetti, and floating soap bubbles. At the lower right, a pink mini cake and tea set were arranged as charming props. Soft lighting was utilized alongside a wide aperture to melt away background plushies and props into soft bokeh, keeping visual focus squarely centered on the subject.

Regarding posing, to honor Daji's coquettish allure, I steered clear of overly broad movements, opting instead to turn slightly three-quarters, lifting both hands naturally with fingers curved into gentle, graceful contours. Locking my gaze onto the camera, I maintained a subtle, knowing smile in my expression. Although the preparation was intricate and demanding, seeing every detail come together seamlessly in the final photos brought a sense of fulfillment that is hard to put into words. Being able to express my own interpretation of the character through the lens is already the greatest joy.
