[Xiao Wu cosplay] The Bunny ears Spirit in Soul Land

This Xiao Wu cosplay set was shot beside wooden railings next to a pond, where leaves created heavy dappled light, posing significant challenges for both shooting and post-processing. A key characteristic of Xiao Wu from Soul Land is her agile liveliness, so her hair and makeup emphasized enlarging the eyes to keep her gaze bright and clear. The glossy purple-and-pink Bunny ears prop were much heavier than they appeared; to maintain balance, the internal frame structure was modified and hairspray was used to anchor the surrounding wig fibers, preventing the headpiece from shifting. The semi-sheer white gauze fabric of the costume snagged easily on the sharp edges of the silver metallic butterfly ornaments, requiring careful lifting with every step. With numerous accessories across the entire body, managing shifts in the center of gravity was a primary concern during the shoot. In Photo 3, leaning against the railing to accentuate leg lines and body curves, harmonizing arm placement with body tilt took considerable coordination; compared to the other shots, this composition is the most stable, placing the subject dead center where the natural light best highlights the fabric texture. Wearing this costume outdoors was indeed somewhat stuffy, yet the outdoor lighting and verdant woodland backdrop aligned beautifully with the character's persona. In retouching, focus was placed on faithfully restoring the white-and-pink palette and metallic chain textures without resorting to exaggerated filters. The shooting experience was deeply fulfilling: from assembling props and scouting locations to fine-tuning subtle expressions and movements, everything had to balance the 2D character's original physical traits with dynamic outdoor light changes. We also prepared insect repellent sprays, as preserving props and garments directly dictates shooting efficiency. Sorting through these photos brings back the little details of adjusting outfits on set; every cosplay portrayal brings a unique sensation, and as a Xiao Wu cosplay record, this outdoor set represents a wonderfully complete endeavor.
