This time, I am bringing you a finished photo share of Kasumizawa Miyu Cosplay from Blue Archive. The character of Miyu naturally carries a quiet and pure temperament, so I chose a translucent studio shoot style to present her everyday school vibe. The white halo on top is the soul prop of this look; it consists of several nested ring structures, which not only have a strong sense of futuristic tech but also add a dreamlike atmosphere to the overall presentation. During the shoot, one must constantly pay attention to its orientation and stability, otherwise it will look tilted in the camera lens. For the wig, I selected dark purple-black long straight hair with neat straight bangs and a low ponytail. To fit the original character's head shape, I put a lot of thought into adjusting the position of the hairline when wearing the wig.
In terms of clothing details, I chose a modified school-style sailor uniform with a white base and light blue stripes. A large, bright yellow bowknot is tied at the neckline, forming a sharp warm-and-cold color contrast with the light blue piping, which is highly eye-catching visually. The patch emblem on the chest of the outfit has an exquisite pattern, and the skirt hem not only features light blue ruffles but also a beautiful light-colored plaid pattern on the background fabric, making the entire garment full of rich layers and avoiding the monotony of a solid-colored sailor uniform. The shooting environment was a clean white studio with soft lighting. Such a minimalist background can maximize the visual focus on the character's outfit itself. To match the temperament of the school uniform, I locked down the shooting props to a student desk with a wooden tabletop.
During the shoot, the photographer and I worked together to try different sitting angles. The style in Figure 1 belongs to a more lively and cheerful look, where I sat cross-legged on the desk, raised both hands above my head to make V-signs, with a slightly playful facial expression. Figure 2, on the other hand, switched to facing the camera sideways with hands gently overlapped by my lap, showing a more serene and relaxed demeanor. These two distinctly different emotions happen to present multiple facets of the character. For makeup, I chose a clear and translucent base, paired with slightly brightened eyeshadow and a soft orange-toned lip color, striving to showcase the character's original youthful vigor.
Speaking of the shooting experience, the solid support of the rabbit ear halo overhead was actually the most troublesome part, and the wig also needed constant grooming to maintain its fluffiness. However, seeing the natural and stretched effect in the final photos, all the preparatory work was completely worth it. I have always felt that portraying Kasumizawa Miyu is not just about changing into these clothes, but more importantly, about capturing that clean and clear temperament inherent to the character. In the post-processing of this set of photos, I focused on preserving the translucent quality of the frame, making only very restrained tweaks to the light and shadow, hoping to faithfully restore the beauty of this school-style sailor uniform look itself. Through this piece of work, I want to convey a little bit of cuteness and sincerity within the character's ordinary daily life. I hope this combination of the pure school-style sailor uniform and the rabbit ear halo allows friends who see these photos to also feel that unique tranquility.
