[Tendou Arisu cosplay] Blue Archive Ichiban Kuji: The Gamer Girl Through Photographer Qingguo's Lens

This time at Shanghai Comicup (Hu Bao), I wore the Ichiban Kuji apparel version of Arisu from Blue Archive. Compared to her standard design, this particular outfit isn't seen very often online, making this Tendou Arisu cosplay photoshoot an especially rare and rewarding opportunity.

When I first received the costume, I was immediately drawn to the clean color palette of deep blue and pure white. The top features a crisp white collared shirt paired with an oversized bow tie; while the tailoring is structured and neat, pairing it with the bright blue hair instantly delivers a strong anime presence. The skirt is a classic pinafore jumper dress design with a broadened waistline accented by two exquisitely crafted gold buttons. These metallic details caught the convention hall lights beautifully, giving the outfit even richer tactile texture in person than in the photos. The hemline design is equally distinctive: the blue main skirt is trimmed with white piping, bordered underneath by two tiers of white ruffled flounces. When walking, this layered construction creates a delightful flare that looks stunning in dynamic motion captures.

The headpiece is truly one of the souls of this look. That pale cyan-green geometric frame headpiece, honestly, was easily bumped into in the convention crowds, but slipping it on immediately channeled Arisu's signature gamer girl demeanor. Paired with the deep blue long wig and aqua-blue colored contacts, the visual focus was effortlessly drawn to the face. To prevent the wig from looking frizzy, I invested significant effort into wig styling that day—the high ponytail coupled with long face-framing bangs flattered facial contours while adding a sense of airy lightness.

The shooting environment for these Convention photos was inside the exhibition halls of Shanghai Comicup. The venue lighting was fairly intricate, but photographer Qingguo demonstrated consummate professionalism in managing light and shadow. He captured several candid, natural gestures—such as one shot with one hand on my hip and the other gently steadying the headpiece, catching an expression balanced between self-confidence and playful cuteness; walking moments with hands slipped into the pockets; and quiet stances with hands gently clasped over the chest. These varied poses highlighted the character's multifaceted personality.

Looking back at that shoot, the wig and outfit were actually quite heavy, yet Qingguo patiently hunted for optimal angles along the aisles, skillfully blurring out the surrounding crowds using a shallow depth of field to keep the subject squarely in focus. Because it was shot live on the expo floor, glimpses of passing cosplayers in the background added an authentic slice-of-life convention atmosphere with a documentary flair.

From color harmony to tailoring, this outfit aligns flawlessly with the character setting. The white bow, golden buttons, iconic geometric headpiece, and fluffy tiered hemline all faithfully recreate the design details. Bringing such a rare outfit to life and preserving crisp, beautiful images through Cosplay photography brings immense fulfillment as a cosplayer.
