Shooting this set of photos today was highly fulfilling; the wind on site was very strong and the cloud layer hung very low, which instead added a very unique sense of atmosphere to the frame. This outfit for Seele Vollerei cosplay truly has many details—from the metal decorations at the collar to the layering of the skirt, as well as the leg patterns and asymmetric shoe design, a great deal of thought went into recreating every single component. To capture the powerful aura of the scythe, the photographer specially utilized an ultra-low angle shot, combined with the perspective distortion of a wide-angle lens, to make the weapon look more imposing, while perfectly catching the dynamic movement of the skirt hem and ribbons.
Actually, the lighting shifted very quickly on the day of the shoot. We kept chasing that split second when the light pierced through the clouds, needing both to ensure clear facial contours and to retain enough details in the background cloud layer, resulting in several rounds of parameter adjustments. As an Anime cosplay work, I'm quite satisfied with how well the costume, makeup, props, and scene blended together. The dominant white color pops against the gray-blue sky backdrop without feeling out of place.
Every time I portray a character from Honkai Impact 3rd, I feel a sense of mission because the character settings and stories have so much depth. I hope to convey Seele's gentle yet resilient nature to everyone through these photos. In post-processing, the sky textures and the realism of the environment were intentionally preserved without over-softening, as crisp lighting better complements the tension of a combat stance. I hope this photo set allows everyone to feel the dedication put into this Outdoor photography session.
