This set of Summer Flowers FA018 swimsuit photos has finally been put together. Speaking of this styling, the red-and-white plaid strapless swimsuit can be said to be the core; in order to present the best visual effect in front of the lens, a lot of thought went into grooming and adjusting the costume. The outer pink semi-transparent sheer skirt features multi-layered ruffles and pleats, and shooting with this kind of material near water really tests expressiveness, but fortunately, the breeze and water reflections added points to it, making it look lightweight and layered. In terms of wig handling, a gradient from brown to pinkish-orange was specially made, matching the white curved horns on top of the head, the fluffy animal ears, and that large pink flower, to recreate the exotic and cute traits of the design as much as possible. To increase the visual expressiveness of the legs, the red ribbon lace thigh rings on the thighs and the black-and-blue geometric wide-band ankle rings are essential details, paired with creamy-white chunky-heeled sandals, making the proportions of the overall styling look more slender.
The sunlight on the day of the shoot was extremely intense, and the pool water presented a particularly clear cyan-blue. Actually, shooting in the water is much harder than imagined. To capture the instant when water splashes up, I needed to hold that black long staff adorned with red branches and small pink flowers in the water, repeatedly performing kicking and walking motions while maintaining a calm and sweet expression on my face. Water splashes frequently hit my eyes, and I could only quickly wipe them during the gaps when the photographer looked at the playback. When sitting on the edge of the pool to shoot, the white stone ground was baked very hot, but to showcase the lines of the long legs and a natural sitting posture, I still had to maintain a relaxed state. Although the staff prop is exquisitely made, it has a certain weight, and holding it with one hand requires the core to be tightened to ensure an upright posture.
The scene was chosen in front of this pure white wave-shaped building, which indeed created a unique Mediterranean vacation atmosphere. During the shoot, I tried to bring in scenarios like the text describes: the small feather-beast bringing me stones from the sulfuric acid lake, and the small mole-beast carrying me floating across the pink ocean. Although in reality there were only an inflatable swimming ring and a beach ball, the feeling of enjoying the summer freshness under the sun, surrounded by love and warmth, is the same. In terms of makeup, to match the overall pinkish-fresh tone, I wore pink contact lenses, enhanced the gradient eyeshadow on the eyes, and chose a glossy pinkish tone for the lip color, hoping to present the character's texture of gentleness mixed with a bit of playfulness.
The photographer was extremely professional in composition and lighting guidance. Many times, to avoid messy backgrounds or to capture specific angles of water droplets sparkling in the sunlight, we needed to constantly adjust our positions. When standing in the shallow water area, the ripples would refract in the lens, and it took several adjustments of the camera position to find the most perfect proportion. I also love the color grading of this set of photos very much; while preserving summer highlights, it didn't let the pink clothes look overexposed, instead revealing a translucent breathing feel. Every shoot is a re-understanding of the character; not only wearing this outfit, but also experiencing her brief rest during this summer, set off by these props and scenes.
